I recently posted a Photo,of Thomas’s first flowers he grew, and by popular demand :o)…namely Wildrose and Karen !,here are the latest photo’s of the central cerise flowers,I couldn’t identify..hope you can now solve the mystery…I think it’s so pretty.and so does he..
The title of my blog shows how much attention span he had,and wasn’t interested in posing with it whatsoever ..not when Grandma’s lounger was vacant :o)
And even more important ,was his new Power Rangers walkie talkie, chatting to Grandad from the shed..“this is red 1 calling….over..”
“Green I receiving , over and out”
Finally..I got the one I wanted in the first place..through sheer bribery :o)
Well, there was an Ice pop on offer, on a hot afternoon.:o)

He has grown a lot .Sue..starts school in September! The ones I didn't know, are the tallCerise ones in the centre, which are shaped like a V with two stems? ..This was just a packet of summer mix annuals from Aldi, for 39p..pretty good beginners pack, isn't it ? There are lots of tiny violas just starting to flower,so I might see if I can pot them up..it's so crowded in there:o)

It's an absolutely gorgeous flower, and I have absolutely no idea what it is! So I googled Clarkia, and I reckon Stera is spot on. I might grow some next year!! Fabulous pics Bloomer. Thomas is such a cutie! Lovely! Thanks so much!

Isn't it pretty,Karen? So glad we have got a name now..I have heard of Clarkia, but had no idea what it looked like either.! Thank you Sue,for naming it for Karen and I ..We are looking after 'The Gardener' tomorrow morning, for a couple of hours,at their house..He has already decided that Grandad will be playing footie with him...not in this heat, and in full sin,he won't! ...don't even go there about me playing ..I couldn't even run for a bus ! Lol

Yes Thomas has really grown, and looks full of mischief. The tall flowers are Clarkia, and the short ones are like a shamrock, but I cant remember the proper name. Very pretty though, well done Thomas.

Thank you Cinders,he is quite tall, and a strong little lad..I can't lift him anymore! Thanks for confirming Clarkia too.there seem to be lots of different flowers appearing daily..I love to see what has opened next. I think I might scatter some of these myself next year :o)

Wow Thomas lovely flowers you have grown :o)
Can't beat a comfy lounger and a chat with Grandad on your new walkie talkie over and out :o)
Grandma's usually get their way in the end Bloomer - love the photos glad you identified the Clarkia :o)

Its all the gardening Thomas has done since he could stand Bloomer thats made him big and strong ?
the flower tubs amazing......I bought petunia and lobelia from aldi, 1.79 each tray and my baskets are huge, such a simple good value success
24 Jul, 2014
Probably,Pam..or adding Growmore to his milk ! Lol..you know I'm only kidding :o) I bought most of mine at our local market this year.or various Bargain type shops that had displays outside..all done really well, especially Surfinias..no complaints at all...

Been a good year, toms in the gh really sweet and peppers so tall on the table had to tie them to the beams
24 Jul, 2014
The Clarkia is a stunning colour Sandra ... and I love the photos of the 'Power Rangers! Hope you have had a lovely morning with Thomas today. :o)
24 Jul, 2014
My goodness Bloomer, quite grown up now isn't he? Freya is still at the age where she'll pose for the camera. No doubt she'll get like Thomas in the future and avoid Grandma and her camera lol!
Definitely 'Clarkia' in that pot...Freya grew some too, how's that for coincidence.!
24 Jul, 2014
It seems to have been a good year for Toms,etc,Pam...I did think of trying some Tumbler ones again this year.but that's as far as it got...
24 Jul, 2014
Every picture tells a story and this has the happy ending you were after!!
He is such a lovely boy and looks so lovable - oh yes, and so does Thomas!!!
Sorry about that couldn't resist it!!! Heat must have got to me!!!
x

Thanks Shirley,He took the walkie talkies home with him,so the conversation flowed again...sort of ! He was wielding Grandads big spade this morning..:o) I love the Clarkia,..do you know if it is only this colour,or do they vary?
24 Jul, 2014
It seems almost everyone knows Clarkia, except me,Waddy..must be the sheltered life:o) Are Freya's the same colour? our Grandchildren have impeccable taste..or should I say, bargain hunting Grandma's.. I think little girls always like having their photo taken..you probably won't have to resort to bribery..Lol..
24 Jul, 2014
Your turn to make me laugh,Chris..:o),and thank you..Both lovely boys, most of the time ! Go on then,I'll accept your excuse it's the heat..x
24 Jul, 2014
I was a litle disconcerted to see this in one of your answering comments Sandra referring to Grandad "not in this heat, and in full sin, he won't! ...don't even go there " Gave me a giggle anyway:-)
Thomas is soooo grown up now and looks as strong as a ox ... he'll soon be picking you up! I remember my grandson's pride when he first picked me up:-) I'm definitely going to sew some annual seeds, and will look out for clarkia, love the colour. Great pics of the 'boys' playing power rangers, cops or spies ...or whatever they were:-)))
24 Jul, 2014
Sheltered life?? Lol!! But we both love a bargain, don't we? I think looking at your pic, Freya's are the same colour, they seem to come in various shades of pink, which suits Freya down to the ground.
24 Jul, 2014
I can't decide who's having the most fun there Sandra , Thomas or Granddad teaching him the full sin ! at that age to Lol... whatever next ? Lovely pics I'm glad the Clarkia has a name everyone will be growing it next year its so pretty :o))
24 Jul, 2014
Oh no,Ba..just looked back, and you obviously knew I meant to say sun! Lol..same difference, sun or sin,I'm still not playing :o) glad it brightened your day,anyway..ha ha.
Thomas is very strong, and full of life, just like little boys should be..but he still loves cuddles,so I'm happy to let him pinch my chair:o) I think a few of us will be having Clarkia next year..so pretty..
24 Jul, 2014
Lol,.hasn't everyone from around here led a sheltered life.including you,Waddy? don't forget we were almost neighbours ! ha ha..Couldn't be a better colour for Freya,could it?...girly pink..:o)
24 Jul, 2014
Oh,don't you start,Amy.! :o) He will learn all too soon,sadly..Thomas,I mean ! Lol.thank you for liking the pics, and I agree about the Clarkia..The seed companies are going to wonder why they are selling out :o)
24 Jul, 2014
Sandra, I must confess to knowing nowt about Clarkia at all! :o)
24 Jul, 2014
Glad I'm not the only one Shirley....I know nowt about Clarkia either!! Lovely photos Sandra.... what you like... full sin in the afternoon!!!This heat is definatley getting to you!!lol
25 Jul, 2014
Your flowers are pretty ...
Thomas seems pleased with that gadget lol :)
25 Jul, 2014
Thank you Val,at least a four year old, has made us a little wiser re Clarkia..:o) No sin,or much sun either!..Well.lots of hot sun,but too darned hot to sit out in it..thank goodness for the Umbrella..:o)
...........
Thank you Hywel..boys and their toys :o) It passed an hour away for them both !
25 Jul, 2014
Thomas flowers are very nice ... hes growing up fast, like my grandson alex also starting school in sept. The walkie talkies look fun ......:))))
26 Jul, 2014
Tthanks Holly, they seem so young to be starting school.don't they? but ready,I think..Thomas still hasn't really got the hang of when to switch on and off,on the walkie talkie..but he talks loud enough,so we can still hear him :o)
26 Jul, 2014
Are clarkias the same as godetias, but in different colours? I used to grow godetias in my old garden, very pretty and easy to grow:-)
27 Jul, 2014
I don't think so,Ba..the leaves are much narrower on Clarkia, and smaller flowers..It's a while since I grew Godetias too..
27 Jul, 2014
Well done Thomas ... This is probably how Alan Titchmarsh and Monty Don started off. "Over and Out"!
<];~))
29 Jul, 2014
Most probably,Alan..it's good that they have a little garden at Nursery too,and he loves all things that move! spends ages with a little magnifying glass.:o)
29 Jul, 2014
Think I'll buy godetia seeds too then, oh and nemophila:-) It's a lot cheaper than buying lots of bedding isn't it:-)
30 Jul, 2014
Go for it,Ba..I have already decided on a little patch in a border for next year ! :o)..
30 Jul, 2014
I have some dwarf Godetia (Clarkia amoena) sown from seed, very old fashioned little annuals but I do like them and they fill the gaps! Just put a photo on ... :o)
1 Aug, 2014
Ok,Shirley,I'll take a look :o)

Goodness hasn't he grown? Which flowers did you mean? I wondered if the small ones are a perennial geranium and the tall ones clarkia? Probably way off beam though.
