NEW GARDEN MAKEOVER

Just a few pics of my makeover, still lots to do ,planting, finishing off etc…oh and buying some more plants:-)

This shows pots as obstacles and sticks and such, in a vain attempt to keep dogs out of borders. They never used to go on my borders, but there have been none for such a long time and so much mess and disruption, that they got used to ‘going’ on the borders

This is the view towards the house from the corner circle patio.

The big thing in the middle is a bubble fountain birdbath which was fitted yesterday, I’m just getting used to it, at first it stuck out like a sore thumb. I didn’t see it (only pics) before buying it, it has led lights where it bubbles out of the top into bath area. I’m waiting for it to weather:-)

I love the circle designs, and would like to thank Louis for his kind design help:) Trev who did it had the brilliant idea of joining both circles up with a circle path. I will put more proper before and after pics in a later blog. I have so many including the pond as well, but it will take me weeks to sort it all out and edit:) I only have a very small garden, but I think this makes it look bigger and since the ivy covered shed has gone I’ve more planting room yay:-)

Lol Dido, all I need is to have the house madeover now;-)

I only worry about the house during the winter, when I can't get out in the Garden!!!

7 Jul, 2010

I think it looks lovely:)

Thanks Silvisherr, it will look better once it's all planted out:-) Dido, I don't worry about it much then either :-)

This is great Ba, i'd be chuffed to bits !

Thanks Louise, the circle patio in the corner, where I took pics from, is so lovely to sit in and will be even better when the wisteria (amethyst falls) and various clematis cover it as it's a bit of a suntrap, and yes, I am chuffed to bits:-))

I love the circle theme design BA and the 'sore thumb' looks perfect in the middle there. Hard landscaping etc always looks very ....well....hard(!) at first till you get used to it and get it all planted up. I'd love to see those 'before' pics, so don't forget to sort them out. You must be delighted with it, they've done a brilliant job. :o)))

its not so small love it well dun .

Thanks Lily, in the winter the lawn, such as it was, got very muddy, even the dogs didn;t like to go on it...and it will make life so much easier:-)

Thanks Cristina, at the moment I'm rather 'house proud' about it and clean off the wood pigeon 'offerings' every day, don't know how long that will last though lol:-)

Oh Ba, this is so wonderful! I know how much you wanted to get back to 'real' gardening again, but this really is the perfect backdrop for all that soft planting to compliment~I love this......you must be so delighted with the end result, your guys have done you proud! :~)) Am over the moon for you my dear friend! xxx

It's really beautiful - love the circles all conjoined and the low wall along the back with the path leading up . . . really pretty!!

7 Jul, 2010

Absolutely stunning, circles are wonderful in the garden. You are so very lucky to have such a beautiful garden.

7 Jul, 2010

Thanks Flori, I was inspired by some gardens on here, yours included, so the end circle is a partly enclosed sheltered area, ring any bells? and i can't tell you how many clematis I have now lol:-) Just need everything to grow now:-)

Thanks Gardennut, I'm so pleased you like it. It's funny, but when you do something like this, so different from what you had before, you're not sure for a while quite how you feel about it :-)

It's a great design.

Thanks Hywel, I had inspiration from Goyers and a lot of help from Louis, and of course Trevor, who actually did the work:-)

What a transformation, I must say the circles look great and I think they make the garden look bigger. You`ve done wonderful with the planting that has given it a lovely softening effect.

It looks really great,Ba,and I love circles.I have a gravel garden at the back, edged with bricks. It looked so "in your face" at first, although it was mixed colours,it had a lot of white in in it,which I hated. It is now more muted with the weather, and is softened with planting,so your paving will be the same in time.,when you decide what you want to plant...Have never regretted getting rid of my lumpy horrid lawn...You workmen have done a great job..and I love your birdbath...Glad you showed us Ba,..you will be one happy Lady, now its done...:o)))

Love the garden, circles, I agree make it look bigger than it is. You've worked really hard. Love it

11 Jul, 2010

Thanks Stroller, I bought more plants today:-)

11 Jul, 2010

Hi Bloomer, it does take time and for some reason, I thought it would look 'finished' when it was finished, but of course, a garden isn't like that is it. I do love it though :-)

11 Jul, 2010

Thanks Great, trust me to plant out in the middle of a heat wave! must go and water again in a minute:-)

11 Jul, 2010

Bornagain, I am praying for a thunder storm!!!! The garden is so very dry. I am watering it every night and still all my veg has bolted!!!

14 Jul, 2010

Wow, you have done a BRILLIANT job with your garden Ba. It's amazing what you can do with a bit of imagination. The circle looks very nice indeed. Ten out of ten for you. Oh thank you for your kind words, but you done it yourself :-)))

14 Jul, 2010

Louis, if it ever looks half as good as yours I will be more than happy:-)

15 Jul, 2010

I think it looks brilliant Ba, I love circle designs and curves. I'm not reading your blogs in order...should have read this first, but am enjoying them anyway :-)))

8 Sep, 2010

Thanks Annella, the lawn (ha) used to get all soggy in the winter and never looked good especially with 2 dogs, so.....I am pleased with it though and next year it should be so much better:-)
