I’m just showing you the lovely triple petalled flower which crops up on this plant occasionally instead of the double…it knocks me out:)
Front view.
Side view.
This is when she was getting going at the beginning of May…. she’ll flower most of the year:)

That's the one I have, too. It flowers for months on end and looks so good. Must look for these triples. Can't say I've noticed them before.

Oji, how long have you had yours? I think this is the first time I've seen the triple. Mine flowered for at least 10 months only taking a short break before starting again:-)

Thanks Terra, a real 'value for money' plant too:-)

Hi Lincs, I think I bought mine from Hardy's plants, they were selling them again at Malvern this year:-)

They are lovely Ba,I have a lot of plants in pots of varying sizes, would you recommend a geum for me to try, and is it fullsun, semi or shady please......going to a nice gc on saturday.....and maybe sunday.....:0)

Thanks Yorkie, I planted it with a purple tree lupin which has also grown a lot since last year, so hoping for a lovely show:-)

This one is mainly a chiloense type I think Pam. It's a cross between Mrs Bradshaw (red chiloense) and Rivale (water avens) It's sterile, probably explains the long flowering period. If you have a nice sunny spot, I would recommend this one, I don't do anything to it, just the normal things you do in the garden. Mrs Bradshaw is red, very easy and long flowering, but not, in my opinion, the beauty of this one:-)

I,m trying to get away from too many bedding plants inpots, especially with the impatiens virus and the poor summers, so hardy perennials may be an answer, I,ve heucheras already so at the weekend I,ll look at the geums....
One patio faces east and gets some sun until late afternoon and in the winter the pots can go in the double glazed gh,the previous two years were bad but last winter osteospermums and geraniums continued flowering so hopefully they will be ok

I love geums Ba....I bought 'Tequila Sunrise'...Its a bit like yours and is lovely too....I also bought 'eos' the other day..It had lovely limey leaves and is good for shade...Great plants aren't they?...:>)

Pam, geums really are the easiest of plants and totally hardy here, you may have to shop online for g. Totally Tangerine, I know Hardy's Plants have them, but if you google them there may be more sellers. Many geums like part shade too, it depends on the type. I have g. Rivale Leonards variety in my bog garden. It flowered its socks off last year. I think no geums like to dry out totally at the roots, but I would think an east facing border would be fine, I'm going to put some in my east border next week:-)

Stripes, you may have to shop online for this at the moment, try googling. Your red one is probably Mrs Bradshaw, one of g.totally tangerines parents:-)
22 May, 2012
Thanks Sandra, I love it:-)
22 May, 2012
Carole, I wish all the flowers were triples:-)
22 May, 2012

Hi motinot, I don't have any of the 'cocktail series' and haven't seen any in the flesh...they're american aren't they? They look fantastic in the pictures I've seen. look forward to seeing yours in flower..or do you already have a pic on? I bought Eos last year, lovely leaves aren't they? Mine only has three dainty little flowers on at the moment, bright orange, great contrast with the leaves. The man I bought my new geums from at Malvern (Malvern blog part 1) is putting a website up in the next few weeks. He is East of Eden geums and has lots of brand new ones he bred himself, I'm looking forward to seeing it:-)
