Christmas in Paris

Hi everyone, sorry I haven’t been around lately, and before I start I must wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year. I spent my Christmas in Paris on a coach holiday that I have been promising myself for years. Never been before and it was worth every minute. What a fantastic place, and so busy, the traffic was horrendous, so glad I didnt have to drive. On the first evening went to a Cabaret and dinner, with topless girls, and jugglers etc, very different and fun, second evening (Christmas night) a candlelit Dinner Cruise on the Seine in a glass covered boat with music for dancing. So lovely, and the last evening spent at a Bistro with music and singing, different again. In the daytimes touring round the capital, and also at night when it was all lit up. So pleased I went. Here are a few photos, but I took a lot of video.

Thanks Clarice, first time for me at Christmas too. Everyone so friendly, and we had a raffle for charity, drinks and mince pies and sweeties on board too.

Nice when it's all organised for you,Cinders..no hassle of all that preparing at home. Two of my neighbours have just come back from a Christmas and New year break too. Both widows, and aged 81 and 85 ! had a great time at a hotel in Bispham, near Blackpool..not far from you,Carol ..and a mini bus included to take them there and back !I think we will be doing coach holidays here, this year, and not going abroad..just been browsing through brochures :o)

5 Jan, 2012

Yes, more and more I am thinking along those lines Sandra. You meet nice people too. I'm not really bothered about going abroad either. My friend likes to go where it is hot, but I would rather have the english weather when it can be relied on, and there are so many places in this country that I haven't seen yet.

5 Jan, 2012

I know what you mean,Cinders..and lots we haven't seen yet either..although if we had a windfall at some point? ..and I don't mean apples..could do both !:o)

5 Jan, 2012

Lovely blog, Cinders ... beautiful blue sky pics ... sounds as though you thoroughly enjoyed your Christmas break in Paris ... well done! ... :o)))

5 Jan, 2012

Thanks Shirley, I did enjoy it.

5 Jan, 2012

I meant to ask you if the food was good French cuisine ... or traditional Christmas Day fare for the Brits?! ...

5 Jan, 2012

It's nice to do something different. It looks as though you had good weather during the day as well.

5 Jan, 2012

We were very lucky with the weather Frybo, and it wasnt really cold either.
Shirley we had Salmon the first night with a cream sauce, Lasagne the second night and chicken with mushrooms and onions and dauphinoise potatoes on Christmas day, and roast veal the last night, but it was very lacking in vegetables really. Couldnt wait to get home for good old veg.

5 Jan, 2012

Well, it reads like an interesting varied menu ... shame about the lack of veg. though ... I hope you have not had any storm damage to your garden? ... :o)

6 Jan, 2012

No, I've been lucky really, no major problems, except a short power cut.

6 Jan, 2012

Thank goodness for that, Cinders ... just means re-setting anything digital ... grrr!
