I’ve lived in this house for years, and this tea time was the first i’ve ever seen one of these in my garden.

So this little fellow as made my mind up about this giant conifer tree,

because when he finished eating he went on that shed roof and ran right up this tree, so thats it new there was lots of wildlife but never dreamed there would be this little fellow living in it.

It must be, big tree or not wont complain about it to those who own it anymore to get it cut down.

Next door to us have a huge cedar which blocks a lot of sun from our garden for about 3 hours, but it is home to woodpigeons and collared doves,so its a small price to pay !

The animals and birds have spread the news that your garden is very wildlife friendly, Clarice.
I wonder which creatures will turn up next ?
Keep your camera at the ready ! :o)

Have to agree, been saying it for over 10yrs i was sick of it, but like you say this conifer is full of birds, perhaps thats why my birdhouses dont get used as they use this big tree to nest in, funny aswell as i was ony saying to Sandra the other day, that at bottom of my garden not much will grow because of this tree, and i'm half & half to just put shrubs in it and stick to flowers in pots and i think the birds would perhaps like shrubs best, can't make up my mind.

Think probably right Clarice...shrubs would be good...specially evergreens for winter cover for them !

Thats it you've made my mind up for me shrubs going in this autumn :o))

Hi Clarice
We have two squirrels in our garden, a male and a female. They love the fat balls we put out for the birds. It is impossible to keep them out of any feeding container, but they are so funny to watch.

The back of my house is next to fields, so i get loads of Squirrels, just as many, as the birds, that come into my garden.. it is lovely having lots of Wildlife come into your garden, but it means, they compete against each other for the food...so,i now feed the Squirrels with their own food, the birds can eat in peace, for a while. LOL I am so glad that you had your visitor
the Squirrel, he will come back again, they usually do...: ~)))

Yes we have squirrels and they love the bird feeders. Sometimes I let them get on with it, but I try to move the feeders to stop them gobbling the lot!

FP - what do you feed the squirrels on?

For three years we had a little squirrel with only half a tail - we called him "Stumpy" and we could always identify him. Nowadays I cant be sure how many different ones are visiting.

I got a Squirrel feeder first, then started feeding them with their own mix..

Brilliant, Clarice, you'll have lots of fun watching him if he keeps returning. My squirrelly visitors seem to eat a lot of the bird food as well as peanuts!

Gee hope he does, think he must have been back, as i put some nuts in a feeder tray last night and this lunch they where all gone.

They keep us entertained for hours in the summer and they stayed around during the winter this past year as well, which was unusual.

Great news that you have a little addition to your garden now Clarice.
