This morning the sun as been shinning on my little greenhouse since the crack of dawn, made me hitchy fingers, so i went in bottom of fridge where i store my seed packets found some can be planted in January, so that was it away to my shed to get some compost, and bring it in near the back door for it to warm up ready for tomorrow, with seedpots and trays, will have to keep them on window ledge in kitchen, but thats not a problem as i live on my own, so can put them anywhere in the house, and not worry about them getting knocked off on to floor, Smokey wont be to pleased as he likes to sit in window but will leave him a place where he can sit.
There is tomatoes (moonraker), some cherry tomatoes from gardeners world mag last April but you only get about 5-6 in their packets.
then Cucumbers, Eryngium and (Verbena Bonariensis dont seem to get much look growing them from seed but can take cuttings alright) but i’m going to try again.

Sandra keeping my fingers crossed everything ok in greenhouse, I'm doing some tomotoe plants for you, loads in a packet so you may aswell have some as me throw them away.

Oh Carol, (there's a song there somewhere Lol) I wish I could get into my greenhouse but it's got a layer of snow lying over it and it just doesn't get enough sun to melt it at this time of year.
Your going to have to keep those cucumbers at a constant 23-25 degrees to get them to germinate! I put mine in the bottom of the airing cupboard until they sprout and then on the bedroom window sill with a plastic bag over them to keep the moisture in. (that's the only place that gets enough sun at this time of year)

Dont have a airing cupboard, but one of my window sills as a big double radiator under it, thats where i put them last year, as for greenhouse plenty of sun on it but not been in dont wont to let any cold air in to it. Got lots of cardboard from corflake pkts to cover, plus my plastic tray covers.

Well done with early seeds, hopefully you will do better than me. This year I will plant less seeds than last year because even though I have a greenhouse and even though it`s heated, the best place for them was the back bedroom which became more like a nursery than a bedroom...lol!

You're making a very early start with your tomato seeds, Clarice! Do you have a place to keep them warm enough before they can go outside? I was thinking of planting some tomato seeds this year but earlier than other years. Last summer wasn't a good one for tomatoes & even though I planted more then any other year I got a lot less return!
I was dreaming a couple of nights ago about planting the seeds of the chocolate coloured leaf Dahlias that I collected last year. I had dreams of all the plants on my balcony being these Dahlias!!!

Very icy start to day again here and a flurry of snow (nothing much though). I have peered through into my greenhouse and most of the seeds I started off seem OK although one lot has disappeared :(
