Nature in embroidery

Apart from gardening, a new winter hobby of mine is silk embroidery. I tend to work designs by Helen Stevens who does some spectacular ‘countryside’ embroideries. These are my attempts at a small Tortoiseshell butterfly and a harvest mouse.

These are brilliant I love cross stitch which is much easier than this, know how much work must have gone into it, clever you, love the mouse :-)

Thank you. I'm pleased you like them. My favourite is the mouse too. I just wish I had started doing this before my eyesight started to go! Even with a magnifier it can be a bit tough going sometimes!
