Great news for some after wettest April on record

The latest head lines:
Parts of England are no longer in drought following the wettest April on record and continuing rain this month, the Environment Agency said today.
Drought status has been lifted for 19 counties in the South West, the Midlands and Yorkshire after heavy, persistent rain boosted river and reservoir levels, reducing pressure on the environment and water supplies.
Water companies in those areas are unlikely to impose hosepipe bans on customers this summer, the Environment Agency said.
Groundwater levels are still low across the country, and parts of East Anglia and the South East remain in drought with hosepipe bans in place.

Lets hope Anglian water are able to lift the ban as well soon, we don`t need a hosepipe thats for sure but it might improve the weather a bit, I think they jinxed us by imposing it , lol....

I put my hosepipe away...to keep it dry!

Yes I think so Annella, Its the underground water levels that stop the hose pipe ban being lifted the reservoirs can be full but if the underground levels remain low the ban stays. Here in the South East they are at an all time low 1/3rd of what they should be.

I was going to buy another waterbutt but to be honest I already have four plus my old dustbins anyway I compromised instead and entered their competition in the hopes I might be lucky and win a freebie...

Fingers crossed Lincslass, I must say I love mine so easy to use and the water feels so much nicer.

There are places where the water is only standing on the top instead of soaking in I guess we need a few holes drilling to let it go down..lol...

I heard today that, if we have another 8 weeks of weather like this, we'll be out of drought in the south. If we have another 8 weeks of this, I'll be chucking myself over the balcony...
