I love a bargain

I saw The Daily Telegraph had a Special offer for 100L water butts with stand, tap and diverter kit for £39.99 plus £5 P&P, £45 seemed steep for a small water butt!
As I needed 2 small ones for catching the water on my triple garage I decided to go on line and see if they were cheaper.
Well done Anglian Water the the same Butt with the same accessories was £28 with P&P free plus a second one for half price so 2 for £42. Although it said allow up to 28 days (I live near the south East Coast nowhere near the Anglian water area) imagine my delight when they arrived 44 hours later.
I fitted them myself and it was so easy the next morning they are full and no leaks and ideal in small spaces.

The cheapest waterbutt we can find here is over €150. For the time being we are using an old bit of guttering and a dustbin, but it is far from ideal.
You have no idea how lucky you are in the UK - prices for almost anything like that are amazingly reasonable, and PLANTS.... Well, don't get me started!

Bargain D.rc good for you at shopping around, they look very neat, I'm afraid I gave up on ours because it leaked like mad so popped it on freecycle and a young girl took it to her allotment.

Gattina the big ones do cost a lot more about £90 here and need a lot more room. The trouble with the cheaper ones is poor quality plastic and they tend to leak. I was so pleased to find a good quality set up for this price. Thanks TT.

Well done Drc and I think you made the right choice anyway by not taking up the Telegraph offer. I recently sent for a cordless cylinder mower from them which was unfortunately not suitable. Trying to get it collected was a nightmare. They use a company called Yodel for their deliveries and collections and it took four visits and endless calls to premium rate numbers before it finally went. I would never use them again for anything that required collection.

These are the same size as mine,Denise,as we only have limited space, either side of the shed..very useful though..a very good buy there :o)...and Pimms,we only have one stand..the other is stood on breeze blocks..or if you have any old bricks or stone,it will serve the same purpose..just remember to have it high enough to get the watering can under the tap ! Lol.

That's such a good idea. We've got a double garage and the water goes down the drain. The rain butts are smart looking too aren't they? I might get OH to invest in one or two of these :o)
