After stump killer!

5-6 years ago we had 30 Willow/Poplar trees cut down. The roots were growing along just under the lawn so we had to have that dug up and use a digger to remove the roots which were over 20 ft long and as big as tree trunks. We applied stump killer to get rid of the stumps/growth that would have sprung up everywhere.
Today I dug a rotted stump up, it was surprisingly easy, very soft and light. I thought you might like to see it as I was surprised how dry, clean and bug free it is.

I dont have any photos DD, before I joined GOY I took very few photos of my gardens over the years. I wish I was Helenium but it almost slid out of the ground and was crumbly and very light to handle.

It sure is Steragram, I was able to dig out another one today but most have not reached this stage yet.

I'm surprised that stag beetles haven't moved in D. but think they prefer their wood a little more rotten.

The lack of any bugs or flora on it really surprised me to Grandmage I wonder if its the stump killer?

Bet it was a relief to get that out of the ground! I have a dead plum tree, its roots are rotting underground, with some amazing fungus growing on it :)
