The first national spider survey says that british householders recorded 13,265 sightings that equates to 750 million which equals 30 spiders in every british home.
Daddy longlegs were recorded in Scotland and the north east of England suggesting they are moving north with climate change.

Normally we can hear them ticking on our back lawn from late september, but nothing so far this year.

I LOVE Daddy Longlegs-es! We always get plenty, and I end up rescuing them ( they 'tickle' when you catch them in your hands ) and putting them back outside.

When I was a kid I used to be terrified of them, then someone told me they all had fairies on their backs...since then I've always been careful to be gentle with them...and I call them 'fairies'. They're so delicate.

I am aware of very few DLL this year? Yes their legs seem too delicate for their lengh when trying to put them back outdoors always afraid they will come off.

I know where all the spiders are - they are all in MY HOUSE!!!
15 huge ones in the past month, all removed never to return. Then there are all the others......anyone got a spare room.......?

Same here Lily - if we only have 30 per house all my neighbours spiders must be in mine perhaps I should tell them to go home!.

Definitely give them their marching orders Denise, horrible things! Any spiders in my house have no choice about leaving but the 'daddies' I don't mind. No, I haven't seen too many of them this year either, it's a pity they don't take the spiders North with them!! lol
