Dappled sunshine ... warm, balmy, Sunday morning & dodgy camera work!

Well I would say this is the most perfect summer morning I have known for a long time … it’s 9.30am … the temps are 68 degrees in the shade & 95 in the sun! (Sorry … only work in old money!)

The birds are so mellifluous … the bees are bombinating … & the flowers are all in stunning efflorescence!! Ha ha …. I love big silly words that are rarely used!

Anyway … I’ve just wandered around the garden taking a few snaps to hopefully brighten your day … so especially for anyone feeling a bit down.

You just know these campanula aren’t really this blue … must be my camera …

I’ve got these in lots of places this year & they’ve given some lovely colour …

These were a few old bulbs I found buried in the greenhouse last year … I popped them in a planter not really thinking they’d do anything but … up came gorgeous orange lillies!

These red ones are luscious …

More pink!

And more …

Oh … and my hubby’s favourite poster caught my eye in the summerhouse … !

One conked out cat …

I’ve put a few sunflowers up by the decking to get full sun … they won’t grow too tall as they’re in a planter so should look good … if I put them by the fence they all face over it into next door’s garden as if turning their back on me!!

I do love these but they have to have full sun don’t they!

This honeysuckle is 10 years old now but with careful pruning it always looks nice

My fave grass with what I think is a weed which I leave for a while as it’s pretty

Yellow chandeliers! …

Babbling water …

Geranium…

Forgotten the nameium!

Close up on stripey…

Purple verbena…

Green fireworks…

Purple million bells … I guess I like purple!

Something weird is crawling up the shed!

The Diva has had enough camera action … ‘Can you please take that thing away … this is my grumpy face!’…

But I’ll pose for you … good old Morrissey!!

Have a lovely Sunday … xx

I enjoyed your blog Fluff! Forgotten the nameium really made me laugh, good one! (I think they're some sort of nemetia?) I adore those orange lilies - I have some in a pot but they're not flowering yet, and I can't wait to see them. Hope they're as good as yours! Also loved your stripey grass - what is it?

Lovely colours, Fluff, and beautiful little Morrissey :-)))

Mavis ... thank you ... happy Sunday to you too!

Jan ... thanks , yes you're right ... it is nemetia! I'm hopeless with names! I think the grass is called Phalaris.

Thank you silverbelle! It's a battle to get the watering done in the evening tho'! In this heat the plants in pots go down so quickly if I don't keep them damp.

Hey hey ... cheers Dan ... not so much of the old ok? I hid my zimmer frame for this blog!

How about your Sunday silvisherr? Is it sunny in Lincolnshire? Sunday mornings are special to us as we are not religious but for some reason everything is very quiet here on a Sunday ... no lawn mowing, road traffic or aircraft going over!

Nice comments Elsiemay ... thank you.

Kfunsters ... I'll do just that! These blogs take ages don't they? Or is it just me? The photos take a while to download

Morrissey says thanks Louise & so do I! He knows he's beautiful! :o)

Loved all your pics Fluff, cheered me thankyou. Are they Day Lillies (the orange ones?) I have some just coming into bud and I am so looking forward to seeing them again even though they don't hang round for longer than a day, doe, Day Lilly!

27 Jun, 2010

Hi grannysue ... & thank you! No they aren't day lillies but the 'normal' ones you see a lot of ... are they African lilies maybe? I think I saw them in another blog but I'm not really sure. I didn't even know they were going to be lillies!

The day variety are in bud & seem to stay that way for ages ... lots of anticipation!

Great photos. I know the name of that weed but it's left my memory for the moment. I'll remember soon I hope.

27 Jun, 2010

Thanks Hywel ... I let it flower & then pull it up but it's very persistant! The leaves are a bit like lemon balm shape & I think it's got a funny smell ... or maybe that's the pile of horse dung next door wafting over!! :o))

27 Jun, 2010

Fluff, what are you like!!!!!!! lol

27 Jun, 2010

Ha ha I don't mean the neighbours over the fence! I mean the other side ... there's a field with their horses in it! ;O)

27 Jun, 2010

Hedge Woundwort - Stachys sylvatica. That's what it is ! My memory has started working again :o)) lol

27 Jun, 2010

Lots of lovely plants and pussies in your garden Fluff. Like a lot of other members you have so many colourful flowers whereas my garden is dragging it's heels a bit....lots of things nearly there though. Did you swallow a few pages of the dictionary along with your cornflakes this morning? LOL

27 Jun, 2010

Well done Hywel ... thank you!

Hi Lily ... thanks ... I must admit I think the kind of Spring we had helped things along enormously ... rain then sun then more rain ... lots of things are early & I did get quite a few 'instant colour' plant for the pots! When your's is in full bloom mine will be calming down!
Lol ... I've always liked different words for things ... especially ones that sound better than the normal ones!

27 Jun, 2010

27 Jun, 2010

Hi Carole ... thank you & yes I had a lovely day. The good weather means everything eh?
Love your new avatar ... xx

27 Jun, 2010

My fault really Fluff, I didn't get the summery stuff in early enough. Late frosts delayed it and then.....well......I delayed it some more somehow! LOL

27 Jun, 2010

Some of mine just look messy now tho' ... the cow trough is a jungle of green ... everything just got out of hand after all the rain! I haven't posted any pics of it as it's too embarassing!!

27 Jun, 2010

Hi Cristina ... thank you too ... is it as sunny in Cheshire as here? It made for such a lovely weekend.

Aw Homebird ... that's nice ... Monday evenings can be the one where you flop in a heap after a busy weekend & then back to work ... well that's how it is for me! Thank you for enjoying my blog. :o))

Lovely photos, Fluff & lovely plants in your garden! The orange Lilies look like the Tiger Lily I used to grow on our balcony in Spain many years ago. For a couple of years I had no end of different lilies & I'd be hard put to choose a favourite.

1 Jul, 2010

Hi Balcony ... thank you! You used to live in Spain? How lovely! I love the lillies ... & the red ones seem to be doing so much better this year ... maybe as it's been so sunny.

1 Jul, 2010

What a lovely blog. THose colours are simply stunning, I enjoyed seeing some bright stuff Fluff as outside right now it's cloudy cold and about to rain... again.
Those orange lilies are really something!
Give your Diva a pat from me :o)

2 Jul, 2010

Thank you Pip! We've had some rain here too but the doors are still open in the evenings as it's still warm. The cats love this time of year ... they can walk in & out at will! :o))

7 Jul, 2010

It´s always a struggle to keep up with people´s blogs & replies. During the last week or so I've hardly been on here as I've been busy doing the allotment & doing translations. I'd had a really long one that I had to do so I was kept busy than usual. I'm also trying to catch up now!

7 Jul, 2010

I'll meet you at the other end lol!!:o)
