`THE DAILY VISITOR

I have not been too well of late…I have had a problem ankle!!
Swelling & Inflammation, GP tells me it is going to be quite a long job..

I have to sit around a lot , with foot elevated….so no GARDENING!!
No FEEDING THE BIRDS!! I can walk about, make myself a cup ot tea,
but that is it….been feeling DEPRESSED, but cheering myself up, by
visiting GOY every day…

But, something funny happened just recently…every day now, regular as
clockwork, i have had a visitor, a furry one!!

This lovely visitor the Squirrel has cheered me up no end,,it may seem strange to you all, but this little chap, sits on my Neighbour`s fence for
about 10 minutes just sitting there, as if he knows i needed the company!!
He then, runs off, not knowing the good deed he has done..
I have plenty of phone calls from family & friends, wishing me well, trying to
cheer me up!! But at the moment, i think i owe this little furry chap a lot
for cheering my day up..: ~ )))

The only thing is that i still get down, & feeling low, because sitting here
looking out at the Garden, i can see all the things that need doing,
before Autumn comes upon us….never mind, best to get this ankle
better….in the meantime, just enjoying my little visitor, visits every day
regular as clockwork!!!

`Here are a few pics of my little visitor…

Lovely clear photos :-)))

Ah, that is so cute! He looks like he is indeed sitting there to keep you company, with his little 'hands' sitting together like he's having a wee chat with you! Lovely! I've just been watching the Robin in my garden getting all of a lather because of the visiting goldfinches! He can't stand it when other birds come on his patch! :)

Hi FP!!
Look at his eyes! He looks innocent! Maybe he visits you every day to pray for your speedy recovery!
I hope you'll get well soon :D

27 Sep, 2010

Yes, me too, forgot to add - hope the ankle heals swiftly!

27 Sep, 2010

Sorry to hear about your ankle FP, hope its not too long before you are up and about properly again. You have the right tonic in front of you, GOY. Why don't you go back through all the old blogs etc. I try to do that whenever I can, and I'm sure they will cheer you up in no time. :o)))))

27 Sep, 2010

I think he is saying ' What no chilli powder today'
lol. or maybe is he praying that there is no chilli powder, hands look like he is saying a prayer. bless, they are pests around us, but for some reason we have not had that many this year, wonder if they will be back to us this winter to feed.

27 Sep, 2010

It's nice that he comes to pay you a visit when you are feeling blue. I too would send you healing vibes and hope for a swift recovery.

I really enjoy reading the blogs...and spend far too much time on here and late at night/early morning when I can't sleep!! A very good tonic, I agree.

27 Sep, 2010

You been disco dancing? well whatever it is I do so hope it will get better soon. If you had been out gardening you probably wouldn't have had your visitor, amusing little chaps aren't they. Is you little Lhasa keeping you company?

27 Sep, 2010

Sorry you are not well and must be so frustrating not being able to get out in the garden. I had foot surgery earlier this year so I know how you feel.
Love your little furry friend, hope he keeps coming back to brighten your day.

Thanks Valadal...yes feel like i am being punished for something!! Fate
works in funny ways.....Housework too, is getting a tad neglected as i
do not have a domesticated Hubby lol...its terrible having to sit and watch
the dust settle...

27 Sep, 2010

Dust will be there when you are not as my old mum used to say and the garden will keep.
I thought I would have gone mad when I was laid up but looking back it passed so quickly. Keep your chin up.

27 Sep, 2010

Aaaw....thanks Valadel, your Mum`s words were true!! Mum`s always seemed
right with their wise sayings!! `They all seemed to make sense...

What a pity we don't live closer, Barnaby would love to take Teddy with him on his walks. They (as you know) are intelligent little dogs and I'm sure he will understand the situation. Barnaby doesn't make a fuss when he's bored, he just accepts it and sleeps.....with one eye open. On the other hand when the magic word is uttered, he gets VERY exited. At first he walks normally but after about five minutes he's Very active. As gardeners we all can understand how frustrating it is for you but maybe it will give you a chance to reflect and plan. Come that dreadful time when everywhere is frosted I intend to dig out old photo albums and scan them.
I do hope you'll be on the other end of the lead soon. Licks n' sniffs from Barnaby.

28 Sep, 2010

he is cute, shame they're vermin though :(

28 Sep, 2010

It is a pity Heron? Teddy would love to join Barnaby on his walks!!
Its amazing really, how they say that little dogs do not need much exercising?
It has, to be a myth where Teddy is concerned, he really does love being
out in the open, after his long walk, he just loves to sit on the grass &
watch everything that is going on....its so hard to get him to come home
again, sometimes, i have to pick him up the rest of the way home, because
he refuses to budge lol...you are so right about them being intelligent!!

28 Sep, 2010

Donna, you are so right, he is a cutie...i do not see them as vermin, although
they are of course!! I have fell in love this little fellow, since his visits..but
i am sure he is telling me he misses his nuts, that i feed him with, as they
have their own feeder in my Wildlife Area, amongst the Bird feeders...

28 Sep, 2010

Aw Sheila......so sorry to hear about your ankle, it's so frustrating not to be able to do what you want.....a year ago I pulled my back, and was 5 weeks immobile, so I know how it is.....thing is though it's Autumn so the garden is slowing down, squirrel is keeping his eye on you and your garden, and you can keep warm and cosy, while your ankle mends. Don't worry my friend, time will heal and Valadel's right......take care....XX

28 Sep, 2010

`Thanks for your comforting words Janey! Everyone, has been so nice.. what
a great feeling it is, knowing, there is always someone on GOY you can
correspond with at times like this!! I have been looking at your blogs re:
Lottie & Teddy, its so nice to see they have both bonded....they are both so
adorable, give them both a big hug for me xx

29 Sep, 2010

Hope you're feeling better soon Sheila...has your squirrel been to see you today? I'd love one in the garden, I know they can be pests, but they are so loveable...:o)
Lottie is being a pain right now.....she's a lot of energy and hasn't had a walk with the heavy rain...I would go but she won't! Will give Ted 2 hugs....Lol!

29 Sep, 2010

I'm sure he is just checking to see how long it will be before the nuts are back on the menu. He must be saying,"She's still sitting there I'll give her one more week then it's the bird seed diet for me".
Get well soon.
Linda

`Feeling a bit better Janey.... thank you, for asking..
Yes, he is still calling, would you believe it...when i looked outside yesterday
he had placed a large Peanut on the fence, came back later to collect it,
sat there for a while, looking at me lol Then scarpered off with the peanut
in its mouth...very strange!! `Teddy is similar to Lottie, he will not go out
in the rain, hates it, it does worry me though, in case he is not going when he
should...trouble is Janey you cannot force them? If we try to, Teddy rebels
& refuses to budge lol

LOL Linda, I am sure this little chap is trying to tell me something?
I am sure it must be `When are you coming back to feed us? Feel so sorry for
the little chap...all seems a bit weird though, but just like you joked, it will
be back to the bird seed for him ..probably, the next door neighbours!!!
Until, i am back on my two feet again....
