i hate spiders but love to see them in garden and amazed at how clever they are.

Very cunning and with a big appetite, Sanbaz. I once rescued a grasshopper from a web and spent ages with tweezers freeing the poor things legs that were well wrapped. He survived and eventually hopped away :)

When I sit upon the web
I spin a fine old thread
about the flies that I have caught
and eaten before bed.
Great picture Sandra, I was in the garage have a cycle on our exercise bike and an enormous spider crept up the wall beside me and went into the web of a small bodied spider with very long legs. The spider came to see what was in his web and ran away. The huge spider cleaned himself off and climbed down the wall again.

My husband is very proud of the fact that he has a huge spider in his man shed. I am sure he lets them alone so that I won't go in there. Still thats' where the lawn mower is so why should I worry!

That made me smile Cammomile. I've only just started to ride for exercise again and do about 2 and a half kilometres. The legs feel as though they are going to drop off after that at the moment. Perhaps that what happened to the spider as he only had seven legs. LOL.

They are amazing spiders aren't they San, but that looks awful for the poor creature firmly wrapped...:((. Reading Gees comment, I did the same thing the other day, spider was just about to wrap up a tortoiseshell butterfly, I managed to get it free and popped it on a Buddleia which it had been enjoying before. Poor creature I'm not sure if it survived later on not....:((
