Brilliant pic Sand. Not seen any in our garden. Used to have one when I lived at home many, many, years ago. My Dad made sure he was fed and watered, and while he'd be waiting for hedgy to arrive, he'd catch gnats and moths for Charlie the spider who lived on our front room window. Lol.:o))

Know what you mean Sanbaz about sitting up until they visit I do the same except ours are usually about 9 - 10 - 30 p.m. any later than that and I'm off to bed.....LOL Glad you have a visitor thought super picture of him.

31 Aug, 2010
Well done for getting the pic, San - I came on to say were you up half the night in order to get this pic, lol!
Years ago we had a hedgehog with 3 babies - they woke my sons up at about midnight one night foraging about noisily, so we all went outside to watch them, they were 7 and 9 at the time - they were absolutely thrilled. Fortunately, it was during the school holidays...

Ah, how lovely...worth being up all night for!
9 Sep, 2010
sure is karen, keep looking out for him now, i need my hog house making now for winter ;o))) "BAZ" lol
11 Sep, 2010
Make sure the entrance hole is big enough for the hedghogs to enter the house Baz makes, but not big enough for the cats!!! also a little covered unlatchable bit at the back so you can clean the home out in late September. I put hay in mine but straw is o.k. I also stand the home on bricks, up from the soil with a small flat 8 x 8 flagstone at the door so they can get in o.k. Last night one of the hedgehogs tried to get up the steps in the garden and got his front end on the the step above and was just hanging with his rear end, waving his little feet about, then he backed down and went around the grass bank and got up that way. I had to smile....I felt I wanted to go and give him a push up to the next one.
11 Sep, 2010
awww bless lol, thanx for info linda ;o)
11 Sep, 2010
Now the nights are drawing in earlier the hedgehogs are visiting earlier. Visited at 8-30 last night.
12 Sep, 2010
really linda, will keep looking a bit earlier then,
