The March of the Rhubarb Pots!

They make a feature all on their own I love them, are they very old?

OMG, Janey.... they look like they could turn into Flower Pot People !
Presumably the terra cotta stands up well to the cold without cracking ?

Ah....when dusk falls by the old stone walls....the rhubarb pots start their walking!! Shush, you can hear, if you're hiding quite near the rhubarb pots a-talking!

Ha..ha...just a pic from Normanby....that does look like a Tudor rose Morgana, maybe they are as old as those times themselves, more likely were stacked on B&Q's shelves!...Lol!

I thought these were in your garden and was imagining rubarb pie, crumble, wine etc etc :)

I just have one in the garden Gee and it forces lovely tender pink stems.......:o)

They're lovely Janey. I just love to see those pure pink rhubarb stems with the yellow leaves - so tender.

they look great just nice to have one in the veg patch or garden really even if you didnt use it

They do make a lovely feature and when the rhubarbs finished you can always pop a trailing plant in the top.......last summer I had a trailing fuchsia in mine....:o)

These are wonderfully interesting. I had never heard of rhubarb pots before joining this garden site. I love how they look. And, from what I gather from everyone's comments, they are used to force rhubarb stalks so the stalks are more tender than when left uncovered......?

Yes thats it Bliss.........mine worked great last year.....but this year no rhubarb to be seen...:o((

We had such a bad winter, I think it must have rotted away...not to worry, it's easy to come by...:o)
