Time to strike out?

Is this telling me it wants to leave the mother plant & strike out on it’s own, do you think?
That fibrous red growth is roots I think but I’ve not seen anything like it on any of my other succulents.
This is one of the rosettes of Graptopetalum paraguayense Mother of Pearl succulent, I have it in a hanging basket & this is dangling over the side.
I keep mine in the conservatory, it’s said to be hardy in the garden to -4 kept dry but wouldn’t like winter wet.

What do you do with yours? Won't the roots dry up if not planted; if not severed will the stolon eventually wither.

The roots will wither in time but the branch won't. They look nice trailing over the side of the pot. I usually cut them off when the plant starts to look straggley.

We have loads on our Aeonium, never bothers the plant, Hywel is right, use as roots or remove!

Several of ours do that, I imagine if you snipped one off and planted those red strands or just layered it down it would soon grow away...
