Winter means "taking it inside."

Winter in the greenhouse.

The greenhouse doesn’t get much use in the summer, just a hangout for the maiden fern, some cuttings in water, and some brooding cactus in small containers waiting to growup.

Even the gnomes are laughing, because they have it all to themselves and they are mocking my procrastination.

But, wait… what did the weatherman just say? “Freeze tonight, possibility of snow,” Oh no! Gotta get those plants inside NOW. But, it’s raining and it’s cold. So? Ron and I don the rainboots, the warm hooded jacket, oh and don’t forget the gloves, we’re moving cactus too! And, Yes! We did it, all before 9 a.m. Woo-Hoo!

And, now we’re ready to play in the greenhouse with the heater and lights that work! Oh, quick, get the camera; there’s an awesome display on the holiday cactus shelf, (p.s. I was reading a pamphlet from Reiman Gardens, Iowa State University telling of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter cacti).

Okay, so inside can be fun (in an outside kind of way). I’m posting more Holiday Cactus photos outside of the blog. Enjoy…

Nah, we just barely "saw" some; however, my daughter lives in Pineville, about 2 hours down I-20, and they made a snowman, and grandson was making snow angels.
