Mums Rose

Its a year ago today since my Mother died, its been a hard year, but things are better now, I took a cutting of one of mums roses it looks like a wild rose but a bit different don’t know its name.
So it was nice to see on her anniversary that the flowers have come out today…

How lovely that the rose is flowering on the anniversary and it doesn't matter about its original name, what nicer name could there be than 'Mum's Rose'?

I think thats a strongly scented Rose. Used to know a
hedge of them and stop to sniff them.

Sorry you're missing your Mom, I lost mine too a year ago last March & I miss her & think of her every single day.
I love that the flower opened on this day for you though.

How lovely for the rose to flower today ... It's beautiful, and nice that you have been able to grow it. I don't think it's a wild one either. I remember once seeing it in a Garden centre and thought of buying it.

A beautiful rose Holly...You never forget your mum, but it will ease..My mum has been gone 28 years and not a day goes by when i dont think of her...but my thoughts are of happy times x

My sentiments like all the above,Holly..always a day to remember..but what a lovely Rose to have in her memory..and in flower just at the right time..It's 30 years last week since I lost mine,and my mum in law on the same date,10 years ago..so double the memories in our house,but only the nice ones..:o)

It is a lovely rose Holly(Rosa glauca). My mom died long time ago and I still think about her. We never forget, but the pain and sadness will drift away in time. You have a beautiful memory rose.
