February and signs of spring in my garden.

I am sorry I don’t participate in the forum as much as I would like but I do enjoy seeing your lovely plants and reading the bloggs when I can. Maybe this year things will ease up and I can spend more time getting involved again..
Thank goodness we are getting through to the end of winter. I really dislike the cold, dark, dreary days, it makes me miserable if I can’t get out to walk in some sunshine. It’s turned a bit milder over the past 3 days with some bright sunshine and we have managed a good walk every day. I took a walk around the garden this morning to see if there was any signs of new growth and was so happy to see several plants shooting up or flowering.
I went to fetch my camera and snapped a few photos. Here are the plants I found flowering….
There’s not a lot I know but it makes me feel better seeing the first few popping up or out. :o)

Lovely to hear from you both…I do miss getting involved like we used to but life gets in the way sometimes. It’s not long now before proper springtime. :o)

I bet you were smiling when you went back up into the house again. The first flowers can get you quite excited can't they? I was convinced my hellebores were not going to flower this year, but they are all coming now.
Your garden always looks so incredibly clean and tidy. I wonder how you do it.

Hb, you said "There's not a lot" but I bet you're more than happy to have seen some colour after the dark Winter days. I love those clumps of Snowdrops, especially the ones coming through the slate/shale, so pretty. The pink Primula/Primrose is a big one! Only one of mine has come through the Winter, a bright yellow one which I'm pleased to see. Pop in on GoY as and when ... it's always good to see your garden.

Lovely pics. Sheila. Your garden is looking pristine and very tidy. I do like your established evergreens, they definitely add much colour and structure through the colder months. You've some pretty spring colour and big juicy buds ready to pop open too!
Thanks for sharing with us.

Thankyou so much for your lovely comments. Although it’s still bitterly cold we’ve had some really sunny days. It’s been nice to get out, wrapped up well and clear a few bags full of leaves from under the hedges where the winds have blown them. The fresh air and exercise really boosts your mood doesn’t it.

It's a wonderful feeling isn't it when you see all the new growth!
I get excited too and you have much more showing in your garden than mine!
It was nice to see you on here again Homebird, even if I was late finding it!

Thanks Rose. It’s great to see the snowdrops looking whiter each day as they grow and open more and the crocus popping up in unexpected places!
