My garden doesn’t get much sun from November to February, so I don’t go down there much,
but now that the sun is beginning to shine there again,
the plants are starting to wake up :o)

One recent sunny morning, I went around it to see what was growing, and I took some photos to show you …

Crocuses in the front and back gardens …

Clumps of snowdrops coming up everywhere …

Double Snowdrops now clumping up :o)

Snowdrops also under the lop-sided Holly tree …

It still has lots of berries :o)

More berries – Cotoneaster horizontalis :-

Some Primulas … but they are being eaten away already :o(

This one is under cover …

And so are these Cyclamens :o)

Viburnum bodnantense :-

Viburnum tinus :-

Sarcococca :-

Skimmia ‘Magic Marlot’ :-

Hellebore :-

This morning we had a misty view …

So it’s a good job I took the photos yesterday !

But I like it damp and mild. It feels more comfortable to me :o)

Lastly, here are my Fuchsias in the shelter by the garage … hibernating still :-

A few are already showing signs that they want to wake up …
so spring is on the way :o))

What a lovely selection of spring flowers you have, Hywel ! I must get out there and take some photos myself, but as its still a fairly new garden , haven't got many to show !

Lovely Hywel, good old snowdrops and crocuses never disappoint us do they? I don't know how you keep the berries over the winter - ours soon disappear early on.
Bella is still inside keeping warm though!

You have a good variety of bulbs flowering in your garden, Hywel! Don't they brighten up the dreary days of winter? I really love Crocuses for this time of the year & never fail to have lots on the balcony every year!

My Crocuses are now blooming as well. I like the fact that they are not just different shades of yellow or white like many spring flowers. The blues they sport coupled with the brilliant orange stigmas draw so much your attention! The species Crocuses are very often bi-coloured as well. I have a yellow with black stripes & another with wide brown marks on the backside of the petals. I don't have any Dutch Crocuses, only the species.

My Snowdrops are also flowering & the Daffs have half open flowers here & there.

Isn't it lovely to see the garden coming alive again? It's an exciting time of year.

Don't know how I nearly missed your lovely show Hywel, I could have sworn I'd already commented, unless my comments are playing silly beggars again.
Gives one a proper boost to see the spring bulbs and flowers doesn't it, even on a dull day, my primula's are suffering the same fate, your holly tree is a smasher, I was going to ask how you'd managed to keep all the berries but then I remember you saying that you don't get many birds visiting so I answered myself. lol.

Thank you Sue. I miss things myself often so don't worry about it. It's a job to keep up ...
I think Bella frightens the birds away lol

Hi,
Hellebore you sent me in 2013 established well into a large pot. Idlike to know when and how I could cut roots in order make more plants.

I'm pleased to hear it's doing well.
I think the best time to divide them is after they finish flowering, at the end of the spring.
Tip it out of the pot, and you can just slice through it with a spade.
