A spring afternoon

Yesterday was a lovely spring day so on my way to get Bella’s food I made a detour along some local country lanes, and I saw some wild flowers.
Big clumps of Marsh Marigold, Caltha palustris :-
Lots of bright Dendelions, Taraxacum :-
Some lovely patches of Lady’s Smock, Cardamine pratensis :-
And of course the common little Primrose, Primula vulgaris :-
There were lots more species about to flower too, so I’ll be going again soon.
About 5 miles from my village is Carreg Cennen Castle, which I think is creepy so I usually drive past it, but yesterday I took a few photos from various viewpoints :-

What a lovely walk to go on Hywel and nice to be able to do it on a pleasant day! The lambs are getting quite big now - we didn’t see many tiny lambs in the fields this year because of the wet and cold weather.
Let’s hope for some more dry, warm days to look forward to.

You were right to take this detour, Hywel! Those brilliant yellows are enough to make you smile. Lovely to see all the natural wild flowers - I'm not surprised you'll be heading back to capture the ones yet to bloom.
I do love the pics of the castle, not creepy at all! ☺️. I'm going to look it up now. Love a bit of history. Those last few pics are quite atmospheric. Thanks for sharing.
