A failure and compensation

Oh dear, the new orchid is sadly no more. All the remaining leaves fell off and so I tipped out the compost to have a look at the roots I saw that they were rotting so it has now been consigned to the bin.
However…..I have moved on and bought another two to compensate for the loss. See the photos…..
I bought this lovely cymbidium in the sale of course though the photo doesn`t do it justice.
This is the second flush of flowers on one of my older orchids
I bought this little phaleanopsis, again in the sale, as a replacement for the one that died. The plant itself is very healthy and should be fine.
If and when new stock arrives I shall buy the purple and white orchid full price. Something I don`t usually do but I love the colour and will make an exception.
Because the weather was dry and warm today I would have spent time in the garden clearing away old foliage before any neew growth gets going. However we were stocktaking at work so I spent the afternoon there instead. I must admit it is nice being at work when the sun is shining even if it is on a Sunday.
I haven`t heard any more from Labrador Lifeline and each time the phone rings I hope it might be them. I do hope I don`t have to wait too long, I haven`t been dogless for more than 3 mths and that wasn`t very nice. Note to self…..learn some patience…lol!
Anway must go now. I hope you`ve all had a nice weekend. Bye Bye for now. :o)

I`m looking out for more orchids as well, one of mine is just coming into bud but the other is growing well but no sign of any buds yet, I really like your dark one.. We have had sunshine today as well for a change, it felt really good although still cold it lifts ones spirits just to see the sun for a change.
Sorry you haven`t heard any news yet Sandra but your new pet will come, keep your spirits up........

That Cymbidium looks lovely - but I reckon it will need repotting in the spring, Sandra - it appears to be in quite a small pot.
What do you think went so wrong with your (dead) orchid?
Oh well - new ones are always nice to have!
I do so hope that your phone call comes soon. Good luck. :-))
