March Sure Came Roaring In ..

Well its been blowing a gale and as the saying goes March came in like a lion but we did have some lovely sunshine for most of the day, then it went very dark, now its pouring down here, only 4pm and we need the lights on indoors but never mind the days are getting longer and spring is showing itself more each and every day.
I tried to get a spur on as regards my gardening but didn’t get very far today apart from a spell in the g’houses, I had to be very careful with the doors in that wind but at least I made a start albeit only for a few mins, I’ve never liked working in and around the g’house when its as windy as it was today, over vivid imagination, lol, I did manage a few pics before retreating indoors….

The next plants are tucked away in the g’house, I’m pleased with them, they are doing really well and were in
a delightful parcel received last year….

Thankyou Brian, as you can see I have managed to care for them and they are thriving, this year the pesky mice are not eating my flowers as I transferred them into the other g’house well away from where the culprits live under my shed..

Soon as I’d gone back indoors for my coffee the locals arrived for lunch..

Like me they also had to retreat for a while but there’s always tomorrow and I know they’ll be back….

Nice to see spring arriving for you Sue, in spite of the poor weather.
We had heavy rain at lunchtime, but sunshine on either side of it. No strong winds though ...
I hope you have a better day tomorrow :o)

Its just trying to snow here now ! Country File said that we could have a very cold week , but by the weekend , Spring will be here ! Double figures as well ! I hope they are right as there is not much movement in our garden apart from primulas which seem to have been a meal for slugs or snails !
You must have a brilliant zoom on your camera Sue as those photos of the birds, especially the thrush are brilliant! Never seen a thrush around here !

Been snowing, hailing and raining here Lincslass. Never mind as you say the days are getting longer and yesterday believe it or not was the first day of Spring so you'll soon be spending more and more time out there :)

Every cloud Linclass, thank goodness March came in like a lion as we could do with some better weather towards the end of the month. Your flowers are all lovely both in and outside. Good to see the thrush has arrived in time to help control the slugs. Thank you for sharing. ,

lovely blog, blowing and snowing here today but hoping the sun will win the battle so I can get outside for a while and do a little more tidying up.

Still very windy here as well but sporadic sunshine between the very fast moving, stormy looking clouds, its tried snowing a couple of times but hoping its only a threat just to keep us on our toes.
The bird pics were taken from the comfort of my armchair which is why there is a slight haze, you can put that down to the fact that Brynner and Morgan insist on always rubbing their snouts onto the glass when looking longingly down the garden, one of the joys of having pets ....
Oe'er our snowflakes are getting bigger.....

Lots of colour in your garden - certainly is a sign of Spring - sun is shining here today but quite frosty - hope to get some things done in the greenhouse later - love your thrush - have a good week
