Out in the garden this morning two sounds of song, one was coming from the happy birds enjoying the sunshine and the second was similar to the sound of a distant motorcycle, anyone who has frogs in their ponds will know what I mean….
Happy frogs doing what comes naturally but not whilst I had my camera on them….
Yes spring has arrived and the signs are all over…
I even spotted a tiny flower in a very unexpected place..
Can you see it? coming up the outside of the pot, sorry its not very clear, was going to take another pic but the battery ran out, thats typical, hope its still open tomorrow but if not at least I spotted it….
Two pics added …

Isn't there a line in a song when froggie went a courtin ? when OH and I would walk in the forest we would hear what we thought could be foresters useing chain saws till we got near to a pond which the grandchildren named dragonfly pond ... your garden is springing to life lovely !!

Can sense the joy in your mood as you saw all these beautiful signs of spring! I've never heard the froggy sex, so hopefully, once I get my pond, I will be treated tot that. It will blend nicely with the sound of distant motorbikes as they race up the country road outside my house....oh, one has just gone past! :))

Lovely plants - and I love your garden ornaments I love a garden full of surprises at every turn - we have a fountain and a mill stone but no frogs - lots of birds come to the feeders and sultana dish though

S'gran I don't know the name of the little plant, it was amongst the succulents that I bought last year, unfortunately no label, I'll take a few pics later and see if I can get a better photo then perhaps I might get a name from someone...

we get frogs in our raised pond and they don't have make a din but never see frog spawn. perhaps the fish eat it all but I find that hard to believe.
saw a pair of robins courting this morning :o)

The fish always eat the spawn in the top pond Seaburn, luckily we don't have fish in the pond at the bottom of our garden so always plenty of tadpoles that do survive..
Yes proper twitterpated here as well...

Hi Sue, I've seen this plant before, but can't think for the life of me, what it's called, sorry Derek.

A nice spring blog of your garden Sue. I hope it's the start of a good gardening year ...
Your little 'bead' plant is called Senecio rowleyanus :)
13 Mar, 2015
Oh thankyou all so much, it never occurred to me to call it a bead plant, I was getting quite frustrated looking for it.
It probably will get larger beads when I repot it, I'd never seen one before so its very much trial and error but I was thrilled when I saw the little flower.........

Lovely, spring has definitely sprung!!!!!

All looking lovely Linc's, is that pieris Pink Beauty?:-)
14 Mar, 2015
It is very different from garden Senecios. It is easy to see why its common name is a bead plant. I googled it and apparently it is scented. A great buy. It is supposed to be easy to propagate too by just sticking little bits in the pot.

Ba its Ralto Rose.....
15 Mar, 2015
Don't know that one, I'll google .... I've googled and I want one! :-))
16 Mar, 2015
Its a beauty, I cannot make up my mind whether to pop it in the garden or a larger pot as it loves its position on my patio....
16 Mar, 2015
I think it needs to hang so a patio pot is probably the best place for it.

Enjoyed your blog, Lincslass, but really surprised at the size of worms in your garden! Enough to frighten the birds away :) I haven't heard the frogs here yet - a delight to look forward to!

I can see the flowers but what is it? It looks like a bunch of grapes. What is the red striped thing inside the pot just above the word 'outside'? I find all sorts of stuff I can't see with the naked eye when I put the digital photos on the screen. Your garden is looking very good and a nice clear shot of the frog in the first photo. I hope OH got over his man flu.
