September in my garden..

August was a dismal failure although the weather was fabulous, it simply was not worth writing about as regards my garden, brown lawns, flowers struggling or lost completely, most pots had to be moved into the front near the house, it stays shady until late afternoon, or down the bottom in the shade near my bottom pond.
Both places became quite crowded but it did save my plants during the drought….
The roses were a different matter, they have loved the summer and have flowered continuously, still flowering beautifully..
September has more than made up for that, we haven’t really had much in the way of rain but it was enough to get things growing again, I have lush grass and the colour returned to my beds and borders, autumn is going to be a lovely time in my garden..
I hope it is in yours…..

Sue, your garden looks great, it’s amazing how the plants revive after all the heat of summer, you certainly know how to grow roses, very lovely

Looking lovely! I love that last photo. You’d never know there had been a bad drought. Love the Acer too. Yes, Autumn is good in my garden too. :)

Well Lincs the summer drought may have taken its toll but your garden has picked up amazingly well ... it all looks so good, and you have some beautiful roses.

Thankyou all, I don't mind admitting I was really despondent watching things drying out during the summer, it got to me really badly, not helped by the fact I cannot take the heat since I was ill a few years back, I now have my mojo back again...

I agree with you about Autumn being better in the garden than the Summer ... love your colourful Roses.

I like autumn in my garden more than summer, I try each year to make summer as good but fail.

Thankyou 3d, Shirley, Dawn and K'gran, I never feed or spray my roses, apart from the scattering of mulch some get when I empty the compost bins, they really cope on their own, I'm only in charge of deadheading and pruning, its one of the joys of gardening on clay, the roses love it..

Your Roses are beautiful. It is getting colder here in Scotland so things are winding done in the garden.
