Egypt for Hywel

As you probably remember hubby and I had a week in Egypt. There are not too many plants in Sharm el Sheikh but we photographed what we could ….especially the Cacti for Hywel. (I look a bit …… off) The tree with the spikes is the sacred Ceiba tree of life and you can probably recognize the bottle brush tree.

That spike tree really is amazing!

It is called the Tree of Life as its roots are meant to go down to the underworld.......it actually has surface roots.
I just think it looks great.

The spiky tree is very strange Linda. I thought there were limpets stuck all over it. The bottle brush tree is fantastic...so tall. I googled the spikey tree and I think it may be the source of Kapok from the flower part of it.

It is the oddest tree I've ever seen. Will check out the Kapok. :o)
