I found the tree with the spikes amazing.....we walked that route each day just to have a look at it. The bottle brush tree was just outside our door.

That spike tree really is amazing!

It is called the Tree of Life as its roots are meant to go down to the underworld.......it actually has surface roots.
I just think it looks great.

The spiky tree is very strange Linda. I thought there were limpets stuck all over it. The bottle brush tree is fantastic...so tall. I googled the spikey tree and I think it may be the source of Kapok from the flower part of it.

It is the oddest tree I've ever seen. Will check out the Kapok. :o)

They have small bottle brush trees in B&Q.
