Hi Everyone, I’m still having a problem trying to get ordinary photos on the site. I used to have the odd photo that was oversize but most of them the site accepted. I have to make every photo smaller and it seems pointless carrying on like that. I haven’t managed to contact the people who run the site either, it keeps on coming up with a notice saying they have a problem their end. I love being on here and talking to you and seeing your photos. Take care everyone and I hope you got through the storms allright, although it’s still windy and raining today. My daffodils are just beginning to bloom. Signs of Spring early this year. Take care. Love from Linda. x

Lindak,so sorry you are having trouble too..hope you don't leave us...we love your contributions on here, especially your artwork.

The people who formed the site have abandoned it and dumped it on the father of one of them (Dave) who does his best to 'look after' it
however he is unable to do anything about the current problems.

BUT he told me recently that he has now found someone to help him so hopefully things will improve soon.

I do hope we can all get back to how we used to be,and I would miss Goy and all the lovely friends we have made over the last 15 years..since it first started in 2007? I joined in 2008..I have given up on trying to add photo's at the moment,as althoughI have tried to resize, it just isn't something I seem able to do !
At least there isn't a lot going on in our gardens,at the moment during this awful weather,so hopefully we will be back when the sun is shining ,a bit of warmth, and able to carry on as before..
Thank you Hywel, for trying your best to get in touch with Dave, and also to Dave who may have found someone to help too .
We are too good a friendy ,knowledgeable site to just have it disappear .x

Thankyou for getting back to me Meadowland Hywel and Bloomer. It's not easy reducing down the photo size as you say Bloomer.
Thankyou Hywel for managing to get a contacts and bless Dave for doing his best to help us out. Let's hope things will improve in the future again.
As you say Bloomer not a lot going on in the gardens but my little daffodils are just beginning to flower and the cyclamen have been great. The weather has been awful today so we haven't been out for our usual walk, but I've baked a ginger chocolate cake and will be taking a large slice to the elderly lady across the road when it cools down.
Meadowland it is really lovely to be able to share my artwork and see other people's hobbies too. Take care everyone. Linda x

I have photoshop and it is relatively straight forward either by 'crop' or 'resize'. usually 5 clicks.

please dont leave as your contributions are still valuable even without the photos.

Thanks for your kind comments SBG. I'm glad you manage to get your photos on alright. I shall just have to blog for a while and hope the people running the site will manage to cope with the situation as it is now and gradually be able to improve it.

I can only load photos less than 1 mb.
I think the problem is compounded by new phones having much better cameras and storing facility. I still use a small point and shoot compact camera and usually unedited the images are between 3-6 mb, depending on how much colour and detail there is.

I use a newer camera too SBG and sometimes the photo is over the limit. If I use my old camera it's under the 5 mg limit and has always been o.k. on here.

I just change the settings on my camera to 5m Lindak, and have put photos on at the moment!!
I am pleased Dave has got someone in to help, as like Bloomer, have made many friends on here and don't want to lose them!

Tried the old camera and still nothing Rose.....

Oh that's a shame Lindak!
Maybe when the new chap starts working with Dave, things will sort themselves out!

Lindak, can you change your browser and use GOY on a new one....Edge or Firefox?

I know I haven't posted a blog for a while but I'm still here and hoping that will continue, its good to hear Dave has found someone to help him, I love this site, always have done, like Sandra I also joined at the beginning, lots of friends and memories on here, never have found another one like it, many thanks Dave and Hywel for letting us know....
L'strife has put a test blog on and I can see his photo's, whether they will stay remains to be seen...

You're right Linsclass, I love this site too and I don't do facebook, but I love being on here. I'll try again at the weekend to put photos on. Take care of yourselves everyone. Don't get blown away...although it's flooded down the road, the river Derwent has come over the top, and we've been another way today to bypass the flood, but the fields are flooded and the water was running across the road but we managed to get through.

i've seen the flooding online Lindak, take care out there, thankfully its calming down here at last (Lincs/Rutland border) 3-30pm, think we have seen the worst of it for now...

I think the problem occurred a week or two ago and so many of us have been unable to load photos.

I go through the procedure of emailing the photos from my phone to our iPad and select the smallest size possible when I do it. This seems to work.
However, my last blog lost all its photos and they have never come back.

I do hope that someone will take an interest in running the site again as we would all miss it so much. Please stay Linda.

I'll just have to make do at the moment with writing Wildrose.......Glad your area is calming down Linsclass. Our tearooms at the river gardens got flooded and was supposed to be opening beginning of March. I expect the river will gradually go down now if we don't get much rain. I went to get another Covid jab yesterday and we toured across the higher lanes to get to where we wanted to but the water pouring off the fields with the sloping ground was going at quite a speed. I feel sorry for our farmers they have such a struggle coping with all the weather. Shame we lost some old trees everywhere in the country because of the storm and my heart goes out to the people who had properties damaged too. I think there's a bit more severe weather to come but let's hope it calms down soon. Take care everyone. Linda x

I'm the same Linda, can't upload any pics. It's so disheartening isn't it? But like you we can write, thank you for that great idea..we can write about our gardens and things that mean so much to us.
I do hope the height of your river gardens water lowers soon, and things begin to dry out as Spring kicks in. It's been a bad few days, I was lucky to be able to drive over the Humber Bridge today, high winds still, 30mph warnings, which most of us stuck to, others went speeding by!
,Lets hope things can.get back to normal on here soon..x
