Quite amazed to see these flowers.

I was quite amazed to see these flowers when I went into the garden yesterday. I could see the colour from my kitchen window, and went out to investigate, and found my Magnolia Susan had a flower on it.
The more I looked, the more buds I could see.
It flowered earlier in the season, but looks like it’s had second wind, and decided to flower for me again.
While I was out there, Hubby decided to mow the lawn. Within 2 mins of mowing, he had an audience looking on.
‘Hiya Anton. Nice day. Thought we’d watch you work up a sweat. That ain’t going to be hard to do in this heat. Neigh lad’
‘Keep up the good work Ant, it’s looking good. Can’t beat the smell of freshly mown grass, can ye. Neigh lad’
‘Quick, now his back is turned, we’ll grab a bit of apple tree. I’m sure he won’t notice if I’m quick enough. Did he notice we’ve already eaten the Camillia? Neigh lad.’ It was almost as if they were waiting for Hubby to turn his back. It was quite funny actually, as every time he walked back up the garden, the horse would stop munching. Every time Hubby walked back down, horsey would have another munch. As for the Camillia, or what’s left of it, it was to the left of the pic in front of the timbers.

Lol Dido, if they have it's good for the roses and whats left of the Camellia !!! Brilliant blog. Did notice a Magnolia grandiflora in its second flush, just recently, most unusual!

It's been a really weird year so far with the weather, our plants don't know where they are, read in the Sunday paper we're to expect some sleet and snow sometime this week, really confusing... You know Grandmage If I had horses that close, I would be over that fence with my bucket and spade like I had springs on me heels!

Quite a few magnolias seem to be flowering again this year - must be the weird weather! Think I'd rather do my pruning myself, lol.

LOL Linda your poor hubby, being made fun of by a horse. It is said we should not expect them to behave like humans. Depends which animals you are thinking of methinks. This has been a very strange season and it seems even the plants are confused. The magnolia is lovely.

Dido, likewise, but maybe not with springs on my heels though, Lol !!!

many magnolias prodce a smaller second flush. it is often triggered by the changing light levels. Many birds start to build nests again too.

Thanx everyone for your comments. Yes Dido, they do leave presents outside the fence. Lol. You and Grandmage are more than welcome to come with your buckets and spades, and you don't need springs on your heels, as I have a door in the fence, you just need to walk through Lol. Well Wagger, I don't really mind them pruning the Camellia as they do it neatly Lol and it's a white one Hubby bought, and I don't really like it. Lol. Sand, it was so funny. Scotsgran, They actually watched his every move. So when he looked up at them, they were looking at him, and every time he turned away, they'd have another munch. I noticed today Sb, that the bigger bloom in the pic has already gone. So doesn't look like the flowers will last like 1st time round. :o))

Do you think they may have left you a present on the other side of the fence?
