Wreath by front door

Phormium ‘Bronze Baby’
2 of these side by side in this border, with Phormium ‘Surfer’ inbetween.

It doesn't look like winter in your garden Louise. How have those flowers managed to bloom in this weather? It must be like another world here. Any blooms left have been well and truly blackened by the sub-zero temperatures and the wet snow which has buried them for 3 days, except, as Bluespruce was saying earlier, that wonder shrub, the Hebe. The brave little thing still has flowers.
Maybe Somerset hasn't been so cold. Is that the case Louise, or are your plants hardier? Whatever, your photos are lovely.

Schizostylis coccinea 'Fenland Daybreak' is another Alan Bloom introduction.
Just another reference really, in relation to my last blog on Bressingham Gardens....that you probably didn't see Louise :0(

We started off well - sunny and frosty - but it poured with rain this afternoon! All the frost got washed away.

Love the colours Louise - we've got our white suits on here!
Any photos I've taken look like black and white because of all the snow we've had since last Thursday... wellies are a must as well as carrying a shovel, spare blanket, sacks, a couple of bottles of water and chocolate in the car, and the boot is weighed down with a large piece of slate and several bags of large pebbles and gravel that I was going to add to my gravel garden during the holiday!
Have a great Christmas.

Thanks Sandra and Clematisa :-)

Crikey, Louise, that's incredible that the Alstromeria and Kaffir Lilies are still flowering this late!

24 Dec, 2009

Paul, it's mad isn't isn't it ? !
They've come through the frosts we've had this past week and still they're there !
Amazing !

My winter Jasmine and Viburnum Bodnatense Dawn haven't faired so well Louise. They were absolutely glorious but the flowers are now all brown and sorry looking! Never mind, spring's on it's way!!!!!!
