A new walk.

Today it was extremely foggy but very soon opened up into a π sunny, pleasant day.We were told there was another park at Lydney…Bathurst Memorial park…there is no lake ,a large pond/pool instead.
The park is broken up into many different sections….a large area for children which consists of pneumonic and climbing apparatus all fenced off from the main park.
The Alms houses archway is the entrance ,shortly after an underpass with the most amazing local graffiti depicting Triathlons, Double decker red bus and the Beatles leads to the communial grass areas.
The bandstand sits proudly at the entrance of the Memorial flower garden…seats dedicated to past friends and family look onto the water area. The Palomino toy horse looks rather abandoned!
Beds are planted up with clouds of pink Heather.
St Mary’s Church steeple ,stands proudly at the end of the park.
Couldn’t pass this by…an enchanting description of May Day and the seasonal changes in the park.Written by a local, regular visitors I’m sure we will revisit at various times in the year..such a beautiful area.

Other than the graffiti, something I dislike a lot, it looks a lovely new place for you to visit, especially on a sunny day. We have rain yet again ... :o(

I do like the alms houses though I'm not sure I'd like to live above the arch..:) That is a very vivid red shrub in the garden there, could it be a chaenomoles? I like the artwork, in the underpass, that has taken some doing and not like the usual graffiti you can come across.

Nice walk Julia. We drove to Salisbury to get some things for the house. The river Avon is very flooded and itβs almost over on to the Southampton road. I hope we have a dry spell! It was a lovely drive though and we really enjoyed the roadside Daffodils in the sunshine!
