Hi Soulmates…..I’m back……. I would like to share some Photos with you of where we have been. This is where we stayed…..
This old granite Farmhouse has been renovated into several seperate accomodations, although it seems that most people dont go for the fishing, they just use it as a base to explore Bodmin and the surrounding area. The house is immaculate and contains everything you could possible want, except, you cant get a signal on a mobile phone there…….Nice…….peace a quiet….The house overlooks its 5 lakes and a trout stream
That is Brown Willie that can be seen from the windows….We were also less than a 5 minute stroll from the Delphie Bridge
Which, according to the owner, Matthew, goes totally under water with heavy rainfall. but, because it was so hot, the Highland cattle and the wild ponies were really taking advantage of the river….
This little bird used to come and sit high in the trees nearby and sing his little heart out all day long…..I think its a “wood warbler”, but not entirely sure. If anyone knows for definate, please let me know. I can certainly say that I can recommend this place to anybody that would like to escape for a while in 1st class accomodation……..

Regarding the little bird....difficult to tell difference between willow and wood warbler, but the willow warbler does have a beautiful song !
9 Jun, 2009
Thanks Bonkers....I will check the RSPB site for the song, I will know it as soon as I hear it........It was beautiful

Thank you so much for this blog Milky. The scenery is the kind I love the best and the tranquility must have been wonderful. Your pics are fantastic and make me very envious. As for the beast of Bodmin, I thought he went with you or did you leave him snoozing at home?

If a beautiful song Milky then best guess Willow warbler as Wood warbler and Chiff Chaff which look similar often only identified apart by song .
Willow warbler has a lovely cascading song like a musical waterfall.

Thanks for sharing your holiday snaps, the area looked so serene and peaceful, perfect for getting away from it all, and as usual your pictures were lovely.

Terrific blog, Milky. I really enjoyed looking at your photos and captions. You've captured the essence of Cornwall very well. I remember parts of St. Breward as my now late husband took me there when we were courting in 1968. So glad you enjoyed your stay. On behalf of Cornwall I wish you many happy returns.
