A Nice Day Out

Yesterday I had a meeting to attend in Llangollen, as it was a pleasant morning I left early so I would have time for a walk by the river, after all the rain the river was quite high so the weir under the bridge was looking like a waterfall, further along the river it was calmer and there were lots of Ducks, some Moorhens, I even spotted a Heron on the far bank.
There was another visitor to Llangollen this week – it being half term – this jolly fellow
Thomas seemed to be very popular with children and adults alike he was tooting and chuffing away in the station smiling up at me on the bridge :o)
The train (sorry Thomas) travels from Llangollen through lovely countryside to Carrog, alas I didn’t have time for the trip yesterday :o(
I arrived on time for my meeting though and with an appetite for the lunch that followed!!

I gather the people who run The Nene Valley Railway get upset because theirs is the original Thomas and all the others are copies.

Hi Neena ...
You are saying that you had to go to Llangollen for a meeting, and not because Thomas was choo-chooing there ? Are you sure ?
I have my suspicions that the meeting was just an excuse for you to go train-spotting again. ;o) xxx

Lovely pics Neellan, I can remember visiting there one summer years ago and saw that river when it was
flooded and gushing through, all white and foamy.
Glad you had a good day...
