A beautiful photo , I can't take photos like that , I have masses of birds outside on the feeders but the minute I try to open the door with my camera they all fly off and I can't take them very well through the glass .. :o(

I take the photos through the window, Amy, just making sure the flash if off (but sometimes I forget!)

Superb Gee I'm like Amy I always seem to scare them off I have a nuthatch and woodpecker and both are too quick for me!!

Love these birds unfortunately not seen in our garden.....

Hints on taking photos of birds through window!! First set up camera on tripod. Walk away and then, giving birds time to return, commando crawl back through the kitchen and slowly, very slowy, stand up but keeping slightly bowed, hiding behind the tripod (it helps if you are thin, which I'm not!!). Press the camera shutter furiously for several seconds and, on the other hand, keep your fingers crossed. Sometimes it even works :)

All I can say is Im glad no Commando can watch me trying to assume that position! However much I want the picture, that is beyond me!! But glad you can still do it Gee. Next time try it while thinking of all the Goyers having a go too..and see how far you get giggling your head off LOL!

Have been trying to capture a song thrush this afternoon, hiding behind our plants in the garden room, felt like Jonny Kingdom !!! just got it in view and a blackbird came and frightened it off.✷
