no, not yet lulu ~ i keep thinking of ideas tho!!
is it easy to get hold of glass? in particular coloured mirror glass?

Either hobbycraft or goggle stained glass near you. There is always Creative Glass on the edge of Bristol, you would have to smash the pieces yourself though!

hobbycraft is easy ~ its on the way home from work ~ thanks!
smashing would be good!!

thank you holly, cinderella and paul; it was seeing so many heucheras in pots on here that made me want a new tub!

Lovely ,Stickie, I have just started to get a few heucheras now. Why don't you give the pansies a good hair cut, I'm sure it will do them good.

only just bought them ~ thanks rose ~ i stupidly hadnt thought of that!!!

Smashing is great fun, we should have done some on Tuesday!!

That looks lovely,Sticki..and I love your basket too.:o)
I would trim the pansies back as well,if you think they are too tall..speaking of which...they have some nice Pansies and Violas at Morrisons now..Packs of 20 for £ 3..I bought one yesterday...:o)

Hooray for heucheras! They're some of my favourite plants and have become a bit of an obsession. I have 9 varieties and am certainly considering more. :P
But I've not seen them in containers much.... Haha, and I do think the pansies are too tall, lovely though they are, though a very well chosen complementary planting to the heucheras, with their dark plain leaves and bright, but cool flowers. Works well, but shame they obscure some of the heucheras. :)

I've recently fallen in love with Heucheras - those are lovely! Especially Peach Flambe. I'm definitely going to get some!

Thanks nariz and tralamander, I got these locally but plantagogo specialise in heucheras if you are looking for some.

This looks great Sticki, I've done nothing for winter yet:-))
10 Sep, 2011
Hope it will last!!

What? winter? :-)
11 Sep, 2011
Heucheras!!
11 Sep, 2011
Oh:-)

This one is in a sheltered spot but not much sun - do you think it will be ok?
11 Sep, 2011
I'm sure it will be fine,Sticki..but I think it is only the hot summer sunshine that fades the leaves,so no chance of that !.Mine are north facing, but do get some sun as yet, from the east in the mornings..when we get some! :o)
12 Sep, 2011
My garden faces east but no sun from there cos of a hill and lots of trees immediately behind.
12 Sep, 2011
Sounds ideal,Sticki..:o)
12 Sep, 2011
is it very windy up there today?
12 Sep, 2011
Very,Sticki..but not as bad yet,as forecast..but supposed to get worse later..a shame,as it is a nice sunny day,and quite warm..all pots moved in the shelter of the house wall, and growhouse securely closed..got a few cuttings and small plants in there..it is weighted down with stones anyway,on the bottom shelf,so should be fine..I usually leave it open all summer, but it would act as a wind tunnel,so best to take precautions..:o)

That looks lovely Sticki

thank you annella ~ i still need to replace the pansies with a miniature version ~ off to GC this afternoon!!
they changed the forecast a bit bloomer ~ said northern scotland wouldnt be so bad so maybe it has come south to you?? or perhaps none of it will be so bad ~ lets hope. one of my pots has already fallen over ~ i had moved the rest.

Very high winds here but bright and sunny
12 Sep, 2011
similar here but not much sun.
12 Sep, 2011
That looks lovely, S. Love the container too.
Tail end of hurricane here today. Gusting winds and rain, rain, rain!
12 Sep, 2011
im hoping this is the tail end and not the beginning ~ wind has just started blowing hard again! its more obvious here cos the back of the house is surrounded by trees ~ twice the height of the house!! its like being at sea!!
thank you for your kind comment constance
