You are welcome Gill , 6.00 pm sharp or it will be gone LOL... we have hits and misses with Cauliflower Gill some times they are a lovely lot and at other times they kind of bolt and look more like broccoli spears sticking up ,then they need picking and using straight away , I think a lot depends on the weather .......

Ho ho Amy, that does sound funny - like something you have on your chips! I should have explained better, I like it with a sort of curry mayonnaise as a salad type veg - try it, its much nicer than it sounds

Hi Dawn , we didn't grow these from seed they were small plants when we bought them ( Cheats ) LOL. It's good for you to eat raw veg Hywel nothing lost in the cooking that way !
I'm amazed at how good they are looking this year Angela ,you can't quite see it except for the blurring round the edges of the photo but we have rabbit wire completely covering them to keep the pigeons off, I'm off to find your Cauli bake recipe I love things like that it's what I call ' Comfort Food ' :o)

So when did you plant them out Amy?
I eat veg raw to Hywel, love the centre of the cauli, we call it the corkle for some reason.
26 Apr, 2012
The plants were put in last Autumn Dawn , That's a new word 'corkle ' I haven't heard that before , I've heard of the caulie being refered to as a curd .. :o)
27 Apr, 2012
Dont know where corkle derived from Amy, lol. so I could grow from seed now and plant out in Autumn.
28 Apr, 2012
Yes Dawn they should be nice little plants by then ,good luck :o)

I have a few years of soil amendments ahead of me, Amy. When I'm satisfied that I have a decent soil I'll start my veggie garden. Last place we lived the soil was poisoned...couldn't trust it even with five or ten years of work. Our present place was constructed...a lot of trucking in of fill, etc. and for that reason I'm being a little cautious..but around here the locals know all the history so when I go to the little market on Saturday morning I can ask about. Met the lady who first lived on our property (before her it was a swamp below a rocky hill!) She said she was glad to see that I was inclined to garden. So better get outdoors and do that thing..lol. My chives are up but haven't yet blossomed ...and the garlic chives are a healthy clump..last spring they were a sorry sight.

Can I come over for dinner, please. Cauliflower cheese is one of my favourites. Are they easy to grow, Amy?
