At the moment, Gattina, it's same old same old. In other words, blue sky and sunshine as I type (will put the washing on the line in a minute), but rain forecast for later (so will curse myself for putting the washing on the . .etc.)

Yes, that just about describes the mood here in Scotland too Gattina....loving her outfit. I seem to remember I used to have something similar but with flowers on.

My daughters going up to Stornoway this weekend for the music festival - they have a severe drought up there and no rain at all. Think I'll move up there. Oh yes - nice wet weather gear and I do love the basket - they were all the rage a few years ago, not that I remember that far back!!

Summer must well and truly have kicked in - we at last have the Italian annual equivalent of a hose-pipe ban! We have been informed that we are not to water our gardens between the hours of 11.00 p.m. and 8.00 a.m. until 30th September: it's only to help with the low water pressure, not to conserve it!!! So, VERY early mornings watching the sun rise, the morning star, and watering the beans, with an early cuppa tea in one hand, to the sound of birdsong. Not such a trial, especially as we can go back to bed afterwards! We never really want to, though.

No I'm not - they said so on the BBC weather last night - so they must be right!! Please come over here Gattina, we can let you have loads of water for free.

Maybe for a week, C, then I'd want my warmth back, I think.

Actually, come to think of it, and paddy well and truly over, there are photographs of me and some of daughter at very early ages that are pretty much indistinguishable. Sob!

I have a photo of my grandaughter about the same age dressed exactly like that, taken about twelve years ago. 7pm and we have just had a mega downpour here in lincs with thunder and lightning thrown in, summer is s`posed to arrive tomorrow, hope is does as everybody breaks up for the holidays....

I know what you mean. You only had to turn round and my youngest had taken all her clothes off in the pram!! Then on the eve of the Millennium she did a streak at midnight. I think all that sort of thing has stopped now - well I hope so. :)

When Daughter was two, I was in the bank, queueing at the counter, when a small hand prodded me and handed me a soaking pair of knickers, much to the amusement of everyone else, saying "I did a wee in them, you can hold them now." That evening, reporting to her Granddad on the 'phone, she said, very gravely "I tooked my knickers off in the bank today - it was VERY disgusting!"
She'll be 40 in a few months time, and occasionally she still strips, but not quite so publicly, and she doesn't need to wet her knickers first. And I don't need to take charge of them. Thank goodness.

I bet you remind her of the incident at every opportunity. I spent the first 6 years of the girls lives with socks and knickers in my handbag too.
