what a superb flower & early even by pleione standards, well done ST. Mine are only just thinking about starting to get a move-on. Wonderful photo, your now 'hooked' are'nt you ?? Do NOT look at ebay pleione sales ST, it is fatal, & it's now peak selling time.

Exquisite, lovely to see something so unusual and in flower so early.

Many many thanks one and all! I love the white janey, thanks DD, wildrose and driad
Bampy you got me started on these, so a very big thank you to you, they are amazing aren't they, the purple one is very nearly there, maybe tomorrow?
eBay bampy? What's that?! ;-)))
If you see me making a comment tomorrow that there is no tea you will know I bid all my money on a new pleione!

It's very beautiful!!! There's several varieties which grow outside at the San Diego Zoo. They are large and spectacular when in bloom.

walk away from the ebay light ST, there is no know cure for pleioneitis ! I started off with a few Tongariro, that led onto the harder stuff , the Shantungs & before I knew it I was hooked on Forrestii. Personally I think I'm too late looking at your snow white formosana, your hooked ! LOL ;-)))

20 Feb, 2013

I might look for pewter otters and the like....
20 Feb, 2013
thats a good idea!
real otters are lovely too!
20 Feb, 2013
Yes but they make a mess of the fishpond. I love otters too Sticki. My sister's neighbour in Suffolk had koi fish in his fishpond and kept finding them decapitated in the garden. It was otters. They now have the pond covered.
20 Feb, 2013
Well....just spent a good 20 mins on ebay looking at pewter otters and other animals and english pointers....could easily have a go with the mosaicy bits and there's a lovely pointer pint glass for D.!!
Otters are lovely in the wild but as you say Lindak, nowhere near your fish pond!
20 Feb, 2013
didnt realise they were in suffolk ~ must look out next time i go there!
decapitated is not nice!
sounds perfect lulu!
20 Feb, 2013
Sounds pricey!!

This year it is open to the public in September - looking forward to see it then.
Not so sure about Abergavenny food festival - don't like crowds, lol.
