This winter I'd been disappointed ... no sign of the robin ...
... but today, high up in the birch tree, I heard that familiar melodious singing ...
Hooray ! he's back to delight everyone with his musical songs :o)))

Thanks Sandra ..
As the weather gets chillier, more birds are appearing. Today there were all sorts in the tree ..
finches, wood pigeons, collared doves, blackbirds ...
... then a couple of noisy crows turned up and chased the smaller ones away for a while ... but the little birds came back quickly when it was safe to do so :o)

Hello Hywel ..
yes ... if the robin wasn't singing so beautifully, I wouldn't know where to look to try to photograph him !

What a lovely picture Terra pleased your Robin is back again to serenade you, mine is a constant daily visitor to the Fat Feeder which is in the tree right outside my window;0)

I haven't ever noticed my robin singing, so I went on my 'Pocket birds' app. (By iSpiny) to check it out. This is a great app for getting to know bird songs and identifying garden birds. anyway, it is a lovely song they have. now it know what it sounds like, I'll pay more attention. lovely photo terra!

Hi Karen .. Thank you ..
My robin sings VERY loudly ... impossible to miss, even from a far distance ... I hope your robin sings for you soon.

me too! At the moment we are getting a lot of goldfinches, blue tits and great tits, but they are all drowned out by the squadron of hedge sparrows that congregate in our hedge and chirp their heads off. They are such pretty birds, with their white collars and brown feathers. much prettier than town sparrows. Thanks terra....what would we do without our garden birds in winter eh?

The bossy robin is still here, just wish the Goldfinches would appear!
Glad your wee robin came back to see you TT :)

Glad they came back Terra. I love my robins too. The American robin in Canada has a lovely tune as well.

What a lovely photo, Terra ! I do miss all the birds that used to come to the other garden, but here there are not so many, as everyone around us have feeders out, so the birds are spoilt for choice !

Thanks Angie ...
I hope your goldfinches appear soon !
Hi Klahanie ...
That's good to know the American robins are tuneful too.
Thank you Rose ...
Maybe the birds will realise how nice you've made your garden and decide to visit more often !

Lovely to see the Robin has come back again, TT! :-)) I've seen many, many Robins, especially down on the allotment but I've yet to hear one! We often see them as we are on the way to my wife's place of work as well early in the morning but they never make a sound! :-((

Hi Balcony ..
thanks ... at this time of year, I most often hear the robin early, when it's still dark ... morning, about 7 a.m.
Then as the weather gets colder, the robin sings during the daytime as well... :o)))
