Thanks all , Brian the flowers appear before the leaves ,it's a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial up to 1.5m in height with glossy ,rounded leaves to 45 cm in width, turning red in the autumn. Clusters of pale pink flowers arise on tall stems before the leaves . other common names ...
Giant cup / Indian rhubarb / Umbrella plant ...
full sun or part shade .. the leaves are very impressive and large ..
Good luck with your plant Scottish , daylily you have more flowers than me I only have 2 so far , Kathy this plant is 3 years old they don't like to be too dry they can be used as a bog plant I have to say my ground isn't at all boggy ,they like full sun or part shade , good luck !

You are doing better each year Daylily I hope I have more flowers next year my plant is more often in the shade also it is planted under holly trees which wasn't really a very good idea as the holly leaves fall onto the D.P leaves I'm always picking them off :o(
