A Tree for Mum

Many of you responded to my blog asking for suggestions for a tree as a memorial for my mother – thank you all very much for your kind words and ideas.
Quite unknown to me, my colleagues in my office clubbed together and bought me a blue wisteria.
In case we eventually move house, I think I will train the tree as a standard and will put this in the pot which I had bought.I hope you approve! Any tips on the care of wisteria would be very welcome!
I hope to meet some GOY members at the Cardiff RHS show this weekend.
I am going to make some “GOY” badges for Rachel and myself!
Please do the same!
See you there!

I do love Wisteria, I inherited one with my previous house. Did not know you could train them as a standard? How would you do that, please?
Enjoy Cardiff RHS....Bit far for me, 3 hours from here. :o))

you have your plant already. I was looking for the 'perfect' plant as a memorial to my dog Magic and I found a camellia called Magic Mum. Perhaps you have space for 2 plants... What great friends you have

How kind and thoughtful. Hope you have a good time at the show and please let us know all about it afterwards.......

Wisteria is lovely, and I think it would be a good idea to keep it in a pot so that you can take it with you when you move.

Your friends are very thoughtful and Wisteria is a great plant. The blue seems a very good reminder of all the flowers your mum would have grown like lavendar and lilac. It is wonderful to think of all the changing garden fashions she must have seen over her 103 years.
For the SRGC show in Edinburgh, Bulbaholic and I clicked on the GOY logo top left of screen and copied it to Word then printed it out. I saw his as soon as I entered the hall. It is so distinctive. It was an instant bond like old friends meeting instead of strangers. Others also asked what it was and I was able to tell them about GOY .Good luck with your badges.

What lovely friends you have, I think this is a great tribute to your Mum. Rachel , Bonkersbon gave me some very explicit tips on how to care for my Wisteria and I must say it is now looking very good.
