Last year , you may remember seeing my walk around the garden in June and walking through a pergola and passing my green house. Well, the pergola was so old that it was nearly falling down and the green house didn’t get much sun there, probably 2 or 3 hours a day, ( well, when the sun shines!) So, as I had a green house in full sun on the allotment and a small propogating one in the back, we decided to give it to a very good friend of ours who lost his allotment green house when his shed caught fire. We then had to take the pergola down and decided to make this area look a lot prettier.

This is how it used to look. Unfortunately I had climbing roses on it and the side nearest the green house , had to be dug up. I transplanted both roses to my allotment archway and am pleased to say that one has definitely taken. Not sure about the other one though. The climbing rose New Dawn, I didn’t want to move and so we left it climbing around one remaining post .Hywel gave me the idea of a trellis , but this would have blocked the sun out from the rest of the border, so I took one long stem and trained it lower onto a structure of canes. this seems to be working.
Hubby had bought an arbour seat for this area and then we cleared it all up and gravelled it. Its a lovely place to sit as you can see through to the rest of the garden.

And this beautiful water feature which my lovely hubby bought me for my birthday finishes it off a treat! Unfortunately we didn’t realise that it only worked when the sun shone, so its now in the front garden waiting hopefully for it to shine!

I am sure you must have little elves that help you at night!
I would of thought you would be taking a rest after all that work on the allotment, but no, you've been working on this, dont you ever stop???
I'd like to know what you have for breakfast as I think I need some!
It looks fabulous Rose, I loved the arbour before but as it had to go, what a lovely replacement.

Thanks Clarice, Mel , Scottish, Sheilar and hywel for your lovely comments. It did actually work on my birthday, Hywel as it was a sunny day.
Thanks Lincs and we won't mention THAT word just incase it comes out again!
Thanks Willinillie, I always start my day with bran flakes, so it could be that which kick starts me in the morning!lol. I can't relax like I used to and if I haven't got a project on the go, don't know what to do with myself!
Thanks Michaella, is this water feature the same as yours then ( apart from yours being electric)?
Thanks Chris, but I think the other rose is dying. 2 stems have already gone black, but never mind, its a good excuse to go to the garden centre! Lol.

Glad that I am not alone..I dread losing a plant..Silly really as it is just nature, but each individual plant means something to me.. I always feel I have failed it in some way when it doesn't thrive..:~(
