cheers Pam and yes if im aloud to take pics i will ;o)) x
thankyou karen glad you like it and also glad the brushes are out again, acrylics are fast drying and you need to have a spray bottle at hand and constantly spray the pallet or you can get retardant to slow the drying process down, good luck with the new painting, cant wait to see :o)) xx
thankyou so much lily im very pleased with it and have to say it was a hard one to do being on a much larger scale, took alot of work and paint ;o)) xx

That's brilliant Sandra and good luck at the exhibition. How many hours did it take you to do ? love the colour of Tulips ......x
20 Jul, 2011
yes, I read your comment about the spray bottle elsewhere and thought.....nah....but maybe I'll have another try later!
20 Jul, 2011
thanx Les this one took about 40hours of work in all i think, it was a big project for someone like myself who hasnt been doing it long, but i love a challenge :o) x
karen it does help, but your right you have to blend quicker with acrylics, i tend to have two brushes in my hands at once lol especially when blending two colours or more :o)

Agree with Shirley.....there's something about those tulips...and I can't find the words for it...but there's something powerful about them. It's like they are having a conversation somehow....wish I could express it, but they just have a 'power' about them. :)) There's real 'life' in them San! You've put life in to them and somehow they are more than just flowers...that's the best I can do....:)) You're finding your soul in this painting thing San! Great!

Your painting is a credit to you San, especially when you haven't been feeling up to par lately! I know what Karen is talking about, it has a, well, a presence about it, I think the background moody colours, work wonderfully well with the red! It's quite dynamic, you can imagine those tulips swaying gently in the breeze! :0)
I have my doubts that your lovely painting will be coming back home with you!
20 Jul, 2011
San do you use a 'stay wet pallette', you can buy a kit but a large plastic tupperware box line with a sheet of damp kitchenpaper and a sheet of stay wet pallette paper ( the works is ok) it has a shiny side as long as you keep replacing the lid the paint will stay wet for days

Hope it does well its lovely and you caught the light lovely on the tulip and leaves.
21 Jul, 2011
Well done, San, looks lovely, good luck from me too.

This is really impressive! Very much good enough to sell. Cant believe you've only been painting a few months San, you really have talent!!
21 Jul, 2011
wow what confidence you are getting with your paintings....well done Sandra..:-)
21 Jul, 2011
You have found your niche, San...your paintings are varied in theme and each one shows your skill so well. This one of the tulips is a beauty...as others have said, I don't think you'll be taking it home with you. Someone is going to snap this up and display it in pride of place in their home.
Hope you enjoy the exhibition and get lots of positive feedback to encourage you.

Sanbaz, how lovely! I love the misty circles, which give the effect of a curtain of rain behind which the tulips dance and sing like star performers in a cabaret - hence the dark backdrop of the stage. Well done and hope the exhibition goes well - how exciting!
