My June Garden

Hi Guys, its been lovely here today with wall to wall sunshine.
Firstly i took car for MOT, and while it was there i walked the nature trail path home taking about an hour, it was scenic and peacefull, so enjoyed it.
Then after collecting the car myself and Baz set off doing the garden, he mowed and strimmed, i weeded and tided about.
Still need to get some plants for summer pots but maybe tomorrow.
Also had to take my new kettle back as even though we boiled numerous times it still tasted of metal yak, so got another costing a bit more but dont care i cant do without a decent brew lol.
So here is a few garden pics for june, and hope you all enjoyed your gardens today
Sorry i posted some pics twice, was having probs uploading pics then it did some twice haha, anyway thanx for looking, take care :o)

The bluebell picture is stunning. Whats the name of the succulent above the thrift picture? Known the plant all my life, but never known its name!

I like the sound of the nature trail path and I love that dark plum coloured Aquilegia too ... your Acer is gorgeous. San, do you know the name of the grass in the pic with the Turkish lamp? I think this is what my Mums neighbours have and it's blown seed into her garden ... keeps popping up all over the place!

firstly sterogram the sedum is Rhodiola Rosea (sedum rosea), Dawn kindly sent me a couple of years ago, its hardy and seems to grow anywhere :o)
Shirley if you mean the tall grass near the white cage, its carex but not sure which, was sent to me and does seed around so i keep pulling smaller plants out haha
Thanx Linda for kind comment ;o))
sarahm and Brian i love all Aqualigia but this dark one seeds about and gets lots of flowers on it ;o))
thanx sticki i have had the red acer for 10 years now, had it at my last hom ebfore i met Baz and had to bring it wirh me and its settled in the ground so well :o))
THe nature trail was made years ago as just a path from the village through to mere park and marton mere where we get lots of migrant birds and lots of wildlife, but over the years its been planted up because there is a big hotel near the large park which grounds meet with the trail, so goes in all directions and saves walking along the lanes which are so busy with traffic now :o)
thanx cinders and scotkat for lovely comments to :o))

strange how places have plants for sale yet nothing growing lol.

Oh, good it's hardy as a little old lady asked me if it would come back each year and I just said "oh yes" which I like to think O could tell just by looking at it that it was perennial and hardy....phew, I took a chance!!

Some lovely plants Sandra and all looking shipshape:-) I love this time of year, full of hope ...fingers crossed for that wonderful summer:-) The carex looks like 'Pendula' a lovely native plant, so unfortunately is very generous with its seed:-)))

All looking lovely Sandra, so nice to have some sun isn't it.
Know what you mean about the kettle, I got one a while ago and had to send it back and got a dearer one for the same reason, cant stand that horrible metal taste it makes the tea taste awful doesn't it.....
2 Jun, 2013
Really beautiful pics San.....is that a white Oxalis in the first pic...its gorgeous! Those allium? seedheads are beautiful....in fact it's all beautiful! Pleased you enjoyed your walk its nice to have a trail nearby. We've had so many problems with the metal kettles, one a lovely design, but naff....it only lasted a few months. When you think back, all kettles were metal, must have been different metal....:o((

Looks good Sandra....

San, I have no idea why I thought the white cage was your Turkish lamp! Yet another senior moment ... that Carex definitely does seed around so I make sure never to compost it ... :o)

Your garden is lovely and the planting round the pond is maturing nicely. Sandra its so nice to hear that you are able to enjoy it, lets hope your good health continues and we get more sunny days for you to enjoy.

Thankyou so much my Friends for all your lovely comments on my garden, very kind.
Im already taking extra carex plants out haha, but thats the price we pay to have some plants we like lol
janey it may well be oxalis, im not entirely sure, i forget what i have and names lol, looks like it could be though :o))
think i would be so upset if anything were to happen to my red acer guys. they take a while to get to this stage and shape, i would love more different ones if i had the space and money , some are quite expensive arent they.
The new kettle is great now, once boil and all clean and a brilliant cuppa haha, a bright red one in traditional style love it lol, now we know we are getting old when we find a kettle exciting haha :o))
Stroller im feeling so healthy and making the most of it, thankyou :o)

The grass is Carex Pendula and they DO self-seed readily.
I purchased one plant and gave away potted juniors for years after. THAT'S VALUE!!!!!
Lovely blog

Hi San , lovely to know you are fit and healthy again, able to enjoy your garden as well, mind you it does not appear to have suffered, in fact it all looks smashing , I know we as gardeners do fret if not able to get out there but I swear that some of our plants enjoy a spell without us interfering, lol.
Lovely pics, Sandra I am also a fan of both the Acer and the Aquilegia, those I like to give their freedom in my garden, I like the waiting to see how many different shades I get each year.,
So good to think we might get a summer after all...

Thankyou Dirtyred and so glad you have been inspired, thats a lovely thing to say, i love my pond area thou it can be hard work keeping the pond clear and ballancing about behind tending to all the plants and weeds lol, but worth it when it comes to life in spring/summer :o))
