Loving a bit of November weeding..:-)

This week in between the rain I managed to get in and sort a neglected part of our garden. As the weather cools I love to get my thick gloves and boots on and tackle brambles and stingy nettles. Nothing quite like pulling a huge stinging nettle root out…
Lots of thing doing well with some things doing better that expected..including a holly tree. It is just too big for where it is unless i take control. This summer is saw a cloud pruned holly and though “why not!”. Well it’s too big to move so it’s kill or cure…
This garden is known as the fairy garden. When we first planted it with small shrubs the fairys were bigger than most of them…
With Blod for company I donned the gloves and got stuck in. The showers all week kept me from doing too much in one go. I just love pulling big stingy roots up..
Lots of clear ground ready for the daffs to make a start in the spring.
love it when a job gets ticked off the list…I also managed to take the bean sticks down and cover the veg patch..all in all a good week.
Hope we get some dry weather over the weekend so we can do more..
Thanks for reading..Sandra..:-)

thanks Waddy...
i like to add manure and cover it up at this time of year Diane as it makes for easier digging in the spring.

My word Sandra, that is some pruning job! Looking forward to seeing how it shapes up next year. Haven't seen pics of this part of your garden before - nice to see it and admire it all, especially the little clipped hedge and the tree ferns. The fairies must be rejoicing to get some fresh air!

this is a private area that was my mams garden. the ferns were bought for her years ago. It was lovely to spend the day in her garden even though I can't spend anymore days with her..x

Thank you Micky17 you describe it perfectly...with 4 kids in their 20's its the only thing i get to have control over...and as i am so busy in the summer if i do it well enough now i dont have to do much in the summer..

You have made a huge difference Sandra the fairies will reward all your efforts I'm sure, lol.
Its a good feeling when you know something is all under your own control, thats why I don't mind being the only gardener here........

Lovely, Sandra - your Mam would surely be pleased with what you're doing with her plot.

I do most of the gardening here too Lincs..although i do get help with the grass and the heavy stuff. but thats the way i like it and as trees and shrubs get bigger there is less to do.
She really would Stera..mam always said it was like having her own little park outside her door..x

Wow!, Sandra you're a devil when you get started aren't you? A job well done there, now the fairies and the daffs will be able to flourish.
