We have just been to the festival of contemory performing arts at Glastonbury. the music is our main reason for going but the artwork on display there is always amazing.

biggest foxgloves i’ve ever seen…

day time night time….

most things are made from recycled stuff. this is where a DJ was at night in a field called trash city.

Tom Jones

Lily Allen

Damon Alban from Blur.

we saw so many bands but these three were my favorites

we all had a great time. my kids are still there. they will stay for two weeks cleaning up. they get paid well and treated to lovely food showers and a launderette….now all we have to do is wait for next year…….

thanks TT.
its such an amazing place it always fills me with ideas. over two hundred thousand people go there. my kids are with 700 others at the clean-up. its all on a huge dairy farm and everything has to be clean within two weeks for the cows to come back on site....

Good to know the site is cleaned up so well.
A lot of unusual design work on show there.
I bet it gives you plenty of ideas for the nursery...

i come back full of inspiration every year. my kids are booked in with lots of festivals picking up all the stuff that is left behind. it's just as well i'm not with them, i'd be bringing it all home...lol
you would be aamazed at what they find settees, wheelchairs, wellies by the ton and loads of unopened cans of beer...perks of the job.

Amazing that the person wouldn't need the wheelchair anymore !!!

~must have been some hands on healing!~you wouldn't just forget it... .Although some years ago I was sitting waiting for my son in a car park near Swansea Station.
Suddenly lots of adults and kids and pushchairs turned up and dumped mountains of shopping all round the car and proceeded to stow the pushchairs and get gran and the chlildren settled and were just about to drive off when I realised and hooted the horn and pointed at all the carrrier bags on both sides.....They all jumped out smiling and looking a bit sheepish and started to repack everything...!couldn't help but smile!

lol.

we took a wheelchair one year to carry all the camping stuff from the carpark..its over a mile away. but we brought ours back home with us. .

Great blog and great photos, Sandra! My other half would be so jealous, he records every Glasto thing on telly for weeks! From the other blog - glad you like Paolo Nutini too, i just love him right now! His two gigs in Glasgow sold out super fast so we're struggling to get tickets and willl probably have to pay over the odds for them - sure it will be worth it :-)

we got tickets to see muse in november...cant wait...our niegbours at glastonbury were from aberdeen...maybe you will come next year

My friends from torquay go every year Sandra , I recorded it all, thought Springsteen was brilliant and I am not really a big fan of his , phoned my friends on the sunday morn and they reckoned he was great . I really need to go . . . maybe next year.

i have been going for the last twenty five years. missed a couple due to childbirth...lol. its awesome there. but be warned you go to one and u nver want to miss another....you could join the scotish glasto clan. there were loads of scotish flags this year...

Did your daughter enjoy Rockness , a bit smaller scale than Glastonbury . .. . still

6 Jul, 2009

loved it ..and survived the 1717 mile journey....
the crowds were so much smaller than glasto so see got right in the front so much easier. they were there for a week after it finished with no showers...but the improvised in the loch lol...
i was so jealous as i have never been to scotland..i will get there one day sooon..she took some great photos of the country side . it looks so stunning.

6 Jul, 2009

brrrrr the Loch is cold at any time although the scenery does make up for it.

6 Jul, 2009

she said it was cold. when i said i was jealous it wasn't of the washing facilities...lol

Nessie doesnt like the water to warm up Sandra

6 Jul, 2009

oddly enough a few weeks before she went we watched 'the ledgend of the waterhorse' on tv. she said she remembered the film when she was there. but dint manage to see her....;-))

Lovely pictures Sandra, I think the Foxgloves are superb and I like the Wig Wams.
I quite liked Lily Allens outfit (I saw her on TVas well) but that's enough of that!
I thought she was briiliant live. I'm amazed that I like her music so much, I would never have beleived I would but I do. Did you watch all of her set???

7 Jul, 2009

i loved her set. shes is a glasto babe...she has been going with her parents since birth. its great to see one of 'our own' up on the pyramid stage. we all loved her set, she has developed into a great entertainer. my daughter rosie was in tears at the end...definately one of my highlights...as well as Blur and the Streets

7 Jul, 2009

Not really in to Blur but Streets are another that I like but I'm surprised I do!

7 Jul, 2009

they have both been on my must see list for years...they both managed to make me cry...Blur was a magic family moment and the Steets song never went to church was writted about his dad dieing..my husband dad died in january and we played it at the after-do. so it was very special to us.
