the short disappearance of Spritzhenry!

Many of you will have noticed that we have not had many comments and lovely blogs from Spritz in recent weeks, well there is a reason and she has allowed me to mention it to her fellow GoYers.
She hasnt been too well in recent months and needs to have an op to sort her out. So she is off into hospital next week and should be back home in about a week or two. Knowing what a determined lady she is I suspect it will be sooner rather than later.
She then has a gardening lay off for a few months. So I expect her to be active on the forum getting her plant fix that way.
Its just for me to say:
Get well soon my dear, all your friends are wishing you a speedy recovery.
Love
xx

19 Feb, 2012
All the best for the op Sbg, and here's wishing you a very speedy recovery.
19 Feb, 2012
Thank you all for your good wishes - it's major heart surgery, so it's a long recuperation period. I'm glad Seaburn asked me if she could let you all know why I haven't been around much lately.
She'll let you know how things go at the hosptal. She said Tuesday, but that's the date I go in ready for the op on Wednesday. It's kind of Seaburn to offer to post messages for me. :-))
I've managed to find a temporary gardener to keep things ticking over, so hopefully I'll be able to do a little as soon as I'm allowed and together we'll keep the garden going.

Hi Spritz, great to hear from you, sending you a tight hug and lots of love, hopefully you will be home before you know it, recuperating in the warm sunshine of spring and summer, and dont even think about rearranging your gardeners pots or borders because there not right hahaha
Best wishes.. Love Dee X

May I add my love and best wishes for a complete and quick recovery? It must be very daunting to have an operation like this on the horizon, but concentrate on how much better you will be feeling in a month or two, and I'm sure you will sail through, and find your lovely garden well cared for and waiting for you to take the reins once again.

Sending my best wishes to you, Spritz ... you must do as you're told by the nursing staff ... I speak from very recent experience! ... Have sent you a short PM ... :o) x
20 Feb, 2012
Speedy recovery Spritzhenry take care xx
20 Feb, 2012
You know I am thinking and praying for you.....xx
20 Feb, 2012
Well, folks, I'm still here after all that psyching myself up. We were just closing the door to go to the hospital this morning when they rang and told me that as all the ITU beds are full, they've had to postpone my operation until 6th March. :-(((
Obviously, we're very disappointed, but I can hardly blame the hospital, after all, so I must just be patient.
Not fair? No. but life isn't fair.
21 Feb, 2012
Oh, what a let down Spritz, just when you had yourself all psyched up. Never mind, can't be helped. Take care. X
21 Feb, 2012
Oh Spritz, how often do we hear tales like this? ... It really is soul destroying ... after all the psychological build up to having an operation only to be told it's been postponed ... your choice of the word 'disappointed' is mild to what I am thinking! ... here's hoping you will be in sooner than you think ... :o)
21 Feb, 2012
Oh Spritz, I really am so sorry to hear this news, keep your chin up, we are all thinking of you,
21 Feb, 2012
Oh no Spritz :( A couple of more weeks isn't to bad, I suppose. Very disappointing tho tut..
21 Feb, 2012
B**g*r. that is so unfair, but better to have it cancelled before you got there.
Dont let it upset you too much.
xx
21 Feb, 2012
Thank you Seaburn for this alert without which we would not have known about Spritz s health concerns.
Ray and I are thinking of you Spritz and sincerely hope this is a temporary set back and doesnt keep you out of that lovely garden of yours for long.
Sending lots of love, hugs and kisses to you and your family and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Be in touch very soon....
Love....Jane xxx

Just noticed I put Sbg instead of Spritz - knew it was Spritz really, just in need of a brain op. So getting it right, all the very best wishes for March 6 and after Spritz.
21 Feb, 2012
Will email you.....
21 Feb, 2012
so sorry about them cancelling Barbara, more stress, not good is it, but dont worry it will come round soon enough, just take care and keep focussed, thinking of you :o)) xx
22 Feb, 2012
Thank you Seaburn for letting us know about the delay. Poor Barbara . . . I have sent her a PM, hoping she won't let the stress of the delay affect her. This happens too often, to folk who are not feeling well. :(((
22 Feb, 2012
It did, Sheila! So much for the surgeon saying 'NO STRESS'! It took the whole day to get over the shock.
I've got over that now, and I'm trying to get back to 'waiting mode'. I have various gentle things to do, and the iPad OH bought me for Christmas has really been an enormous help - I have word games to occupy my mind on there.
Thank you all for your support - it means a lot to me. Seaburn will let you know if I actually do get into hospital on 5th March.
23 Feb, 2012
We're all rooting for you, Spritz - first, that you get it done asap, and second, for a good recovery.
23 Feb, 2012
Thanks, Bamboo - I keep hearing about people who've had the same operation, who are like spring chickens afterwards. :-))
24 Feb, 2012
I hope you do feel like that - but I'm not convinced, lol! I do have a friend who had surgery like yours and he said he hadn't realised until afterwards how tired he used to get all the time, before he knew something wasn't right. I'd guess it's the contrast people notice - oh, to feel like a spring chicken again. Last time I felt like that was for 24 hours after a colonoscopy 18 months ago when they had used 2 opiate drugs. I had not an ache anywhere for that time period, it was wonderful, just how I used to feel... wore off though!
24 Feb, 2012
opiates are wonderful :o) Morphine makes me feel as if I am in a warm snuggly duvet.
good job its not easy to get hold of.
I checked my phone Spritz but no messages for the last week. found out Kingston communications been working on the 'exchange' in the village. loads of outages all over.
Do try and stay stress free as much as possible. potter in the garden if it makes you 'happy' just dont over do it. :o)
25 Feb, 2012
Just checking in to see if there was any news Spritz, sorry you are back to waiting again but keep your spirits up, I know its going to seem like ages to you but at least you`ll be able to watch all your lovely bulbs and flowers coming out, no doubt making plans for new ones as well.
You take care now and know we are all thinking of you.xx
25 Feb, 2012
Thank you - and you're right! I had an amble round the garden in the sun and admired all the spring flowers that're coming up and on the shrubs. They really lifted my spirits.
I'm on the count-down again. :-)) (Fingers tightly crossed, too)!
26 Feb, 2012
Just caught up with your blog Barbara, how stressful for you, but I hope all goes well and you are soon back home in your lovely garden ;0)
8 Mar, 2012
hi there SBG
Give Spritz my best wishes and my OH too and tell her Charlie had a quadruple bypass on the 27th and is now home.
I can appreciate all the stress that goes with that op all too well.
~however on the bright side Spring is on the way now and here's hoping for everyone a much better year than last!
love Arlene xx
