My 11 yr old Victoria was desperate to grow some thing other than beans so she had a go at sowing cabbages about 5 weeks ago. She potted them up into tomato pots yesterday. She used soil from the turves that were lifted and left to rot last year. She paid attention to firming them in and then gave them a good soaking. We went for Durham Early as Durham was a childhood daytrip for me and she also likes the the river Wear at Durham.
Whilst blogging may I take the opportunity to thank you for all the lovely feedback on my plant photos. I am listing the plants in my garden and when they come into flower or are doing something interesting I am adding photos. My brother has now formally handed over ownership of his camera to me :o))))

I always wished for a sister. my youngest brother was a bit of a brute/bully as he felt by being 2 years my senior he could do what he liked to me. my big brother was my hero, still is in many ways. family is such a mixed bessing. :o}

I have a younger brother.
One of his earliest writngs at school read - I have a Mummy and a Daddy and a big bother!
