finally out in the garden

It was quite mild here today how lovely to get out in the garden without my extrmeties freezing off!! I planted the lily bulbs that came last week they were already sprouting, tidied up my pots and swept away some leaves, watered my seed trays, cleaned some pots ready for spring bedding,
Found these snowdrops poking their heads out, there were lots of bulbs coming up now what a change a few days makes, daffodils and tulips coming through.
I pulled out quite a few weeds how come they survive the snow and frosts then? I felt so much better in myself when i finally had to come in, it does something to my soul gardening maybe its in the blood as all my ancestors on my mothers paternal side were farmers and landworkers (no murderers or thieves nothing exciting, just salt of the earth folk)
I am so hoping tomorrow is the same so i can sort out the border near the lounge window the bird seed that the birds have dropped is sprouting!! Hope i don’t get arrested for growing hemp LOL
I am now tired but happy :0)

Funny how the bird seed always grows so well.
Yes, I sometimes wonder if under the bird feeders I'm growing something illegal. Lol.

have found cannabis growing from bird seed. embarrasing when the local cops called round after an attempted break in. they were very kind and pulled it and put it on the compost heap!
It is great getting in the garden. i had a great day too.

Glad you had a good day's work. I had ancestors of all sorts - good and bad aswell. I think I inherited the genes of the garden lovers.

Lol,we,ll all get arrested together then because i wouldn,t know what one of those funny plants looks like anyway Arlene you do want to try and nurture your sunflower seedlings,I had some nice plants last year saved from under birdtable,it saves buying twice...

Glad you had a good day in the garden. I'm keeping fingers crossed for a long spell of dry weather so I will be able to do the same!

It really is SOOOO annoying to find weeds that are utterly, completely hardy and thriving, when my special plants have been damaged by the cold.
It was a good day out there, wasn't it! I got a lot done as well. :-)
