21st Century - here I come.

Happy Christmas everyone in GoY! Every time I log on to this site, it cheers me up. So to send you all Christmas wishes, here are some cards I made earlier . .

This was my first attempt, in 2001.

Then I tried again the following year.

And people seemed to appreciate a home-made card, so on I went.

It is quite hard to think of something original . . .

. . . but I enjoy trying.

It’s always a challenge to get the paints out,

but it’s fun to do.

At least you could say this one is different.

The sky didn’t print very well.

Have a wonderful festive season everybody!! :))

Thanks Sheila :o)
Lovely cards. Isn't it nice to make your own ...

For the first one that didn't come out - if you move the exclamation mark (before the word 'This'), and put it before where it sais http I think it should come out

Thanks Hywel. The strange thing was, I managed to make the "first" photo appear once . . . at the end. But then not again, so I'll try your advice if I ever try blogging again! :)

Well done you love the Japnese one and the house in the snow is my favourites keep it up. Here s wishing you a Merry Christmas too thanks.

Super cards Sheila. This is the first Christmas in almost 15 years that I'm not making my own cards. When we used to run a business I used to make about 250 every Christmas and send them out to every customer we'd be prepared to welcome back again. Now I've bought just 30 from Oxfam - must go and start on the round robin letter... ;-)

Your cards are wonderful Sheilabub.....I love them. Happy Christmas to you and your family.......

Lovely cards Sheilabub. I always keep the ones that friends at the art club gave me and put some of them out each Christmas. Alas the club has folded for the winter, as members get more mature. Hall in a village up a hill too!!! I am too indolent to persuade myself to sit and do cards....I really must stir myself and have a go.

These are lovely Sheila. I take it you paint one, then copy it?? Have you done any larger paintings? :-)

8 Jan, 2011

Thanks Ba. Yes, you're right. I take a painting to Prontaprint who then minimalise it and print two on A4 card, then cut them for me: quite reasonable cost too. Most of the paintings I've done over the years have been larger, but none very large. These days I only paint once a year! What about you?

9 Jan, 2011

Every few years I get the urge lol. No good with water colour though, have to use acrylic or have quite liked pastel:-)

9 Jan, 2011

It's fun trying, isn't it. My ma was very artistic, especially with pastels, and I have one of hers framed and hanging in our living room: sunlight on a lake, amazing!

9 Jan, 2011

For a minute there Sheila, I thought you meant you had framed one of her pastels lol. Maybe you could put a pic of it on?

9 Jan, 2011

It is strange Sheilabub how I 'lose my mojo' with painting in watercolours. I know I can do almost anything with watercolours, but I prefere to use coloured pencils now. By the way I recycled your chocolate recipe for more visitors. Put Smarties brownies in little pots and poured over the chocolate sauce.....bit of cream on top and success. It set well and tasted great.

now that sounds very good dorjac ~ you're not helping my waistline tho!
too good to miss tho i think!
where was the chocolate recipe ~ did i miss it?

10 Jan, 2011

I did too:-(

10 Jan, 2011

Ba and Sticki . . . Dorjac must be referring to the "alternative to Christmas pud" blog where I described my family's fave Chocolate and raspberry trifle. Yummmmmeeee. :))

10 Jan, 2011

found it, copied it and promise to make it ~ very soon!
havent got the t-shirt ~ yet!
dont know how i missed it!
thank you!
it could be a january pud too?

10 Jan, 2011

Any celebration will do . . . even if you have nothing to celebrate! Not being well over Christmas (aahhh), I managed to make it without the sugar, but we still enjoyed it. :)

10 Jan, 2011

on purpose or by mistake?

10 Jan, 2011

10 Jan, 2011
